In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Maybe you entered the wrong Transducer. Go to Menu and try to chance that. Go to a spot you know the depth and try the different Options see wich works.
Just bought a boat with a Lowrance Elite 5. I just see alot of junk on the screen. I see the depth and the depth seems to work well but otherwise alot of color pixels and no arches ever... also no white background.. all yellow, orange and green. I did a restore of the default settings and nothing really changed much.. any help would be great.
Same thing here! I'm trying to figure out how to work mine and understand it. Been out countless times in the bay, inlets and salt rivers and I NEVER see arches. Only shows bottom detail. I dont get it??
Lowrance are nice units when they work. If you ever need service, plan on spending hours on the phone(mostly on hold) to get the help you need!!!!! If you you have to send it to them for work, good luck !!! I’ll never buy lowrance again.
I bought a elite 5x by Lowrance. Not sure how to dial in the sensitivity. My screen looks nothing like the simulating mode. I fish in the Chesapeake Bay. What settings would you recomment so i can get the best sensitivity, thanks.
