This band was always under rated by the main stream for their talent, despite their dominance of the music scene and too never win a Grammy at that time proved they were ahead of their time and ignored by the voters.
This song epitomizes Alice Cooper. He was my first crush as a kid. I remember being in the backseat of my parents car, passing theaters featuring his movie “ Welcome to my Nightmare”, but I was too young to go. Fast forward to 1990? something? whilst living in London I met the man at Tower Records in Piccadilly Circus. I’m showing my age, but I don’t care. I still love him so. And I feel so strong.
I bought Billion Dollar Babies when I was 13 years old, and it quickly became one of my favorite albums of all time, and this song is a huge reason why. It never gets old, and is as great as the first time I heard it over 30 years ago.

I saw him in Leeds a few years ago, with my daughter. He must have been 72 then but what a show! What a mover!! My daughter suddenly realised why I've always loved him and his music.
Got this album when I was 10 for Christmas and I played it a hundred times with headphones at night. Loved that album so much! The billion dollar bill the wallet and snake skin cover. Loved the Alice Cooper band!
Big time Alice fan! But, this song is one of my lifetime favorites not only by him but all of the music I’ve listened to for 59 years. Just soooo damn good👍
Listening to all this early Alice Cooper music just permeated in my mindset and totally altered my thinking on life and things in general. I wouldn't say that it warped my mind but it opened my eyes to another reality of life. And that was only listening to the records and not actually seeing The band in concert. After seeing Alice Cooper and the various incarnations of his band throughout the years performing live I dig the music and the theatrics but I still consider the listening of the music and songs the better experience of this particular band. I really appreciate the depth of Alice Cooper and his music.
I've loved the original Coop's music since being introduced to it as a 13 year old in '73. But by '75 or 76 I had thoroughly outgrown the theatrics and imagery that became plain formulaic (particularly after Shep sabotaged the band who by '74 were already sick of the costume BS) and never grew up along with me. In fact, I felt embarrassed for Cooper. But the music was always great, and it still is. This track is masterfully arranged and adapted from Kemp's original.
What an amazing, very creative, talented and special rock band..excellent musicians, composers and solid performers that survived the many roads, gigs, planes, booze,drugs,etc...some say this band was so good that a few of their songs still get airplay to this day and considered classic rock n roll songs...such as schools out..eighteen.. no more mr nice guy..elected..etc even a slow song that climbed the charts, only women bleed... truly talented group that made a big splash when blasted onto the music scene all those yrs ago...thanks for posting this
Exactly...1973...even the good kids at school had to have this album...and you could buy the top hats 🎩 almost anywhere. Alice gave us a damn good summer that year...
Alice has great following in Britain. There was a football match in '73 between Brighton and Portsmouth, lots of fighting. The Portsmouth fans came dressed as Alice, top hats, mascara, clothes, jewellery, the whole Detroit look. Trashed Brighton then they stormed along the seafront. Featured on the TV news film that evening.......

I'm going with "Loony tune" as Cooper's best song, but HELLO HURRAY is more qualified as the Cooper anthem.
