I have been doing hand lettering for 5-6 years and find it helpful to form a basic shape with a light (pale) coloured pencil, like a pink or something. Just to give tone and shape. It's so lovely to see how other designers work 👌🏼
Thank you for tutorials. I learn a lot. Look at my work. www.shutterstock.com/pic-450492853/stock-vector-barber-shop-logo.html?src=Fhz_TfL_BoKXI2Xr0J6B4Q-1-0
I enjoyed watching your video! I'm thinking about adding the thin and thick stroke boundaries which is made up of 4 broken lines which defines the boundary of what to needs to be outlined. Great!
Thank you so much. Ive been looking for hand lettering that isn't done in that "bouncy" style with no capital letters that you see plastered on bad tote bags and womens t-shirts. I Google hand lettering and I had to sift through tons of terrible, cutesy pages until I found your stuff. Thank you so much.
I loved this video, I think it goes on my favourite top 5 videos of this channel. Subscribed a while ago, and I'm glad to see that the contents seem to get better and better ! keep up the good work and see you in the next video !
This tutorial is so awesome. I enjoyed it so much that didn't understand when it ended. Helpful. Waiting for more of this kind. Full length tutorials. It would be great if you can cover all your further steps till the final vector design. Also, how do you end up choosing one lettering style to a particular word or phrase. :-) Thank You! All the best. :-D
This is helpful! I don't have all the tools you have, but I think I will just sharpen my staedtlers and use a hard lead for draft and softer for cleaner lines.
Thank you for this but my G does look a bit wrong, so how do I get to you next one. Your a good teacher by the way. I think I did pretty good actually.
I really love the Rotring Tikky Graphic fineliners too. The ink flows consistently and they last for ages compared to other brands like Copic or Microns.
You can, the lines are just to keep everything equal and not mess it around so it just keeps it in place. You can do it without lines too or use like one top and one bottom line to keep the text within those two lines if that makes sense
hi Will your design is amazing. Have you a little bit time for a new client? I love your work and need you for a logo design 🙂 Please vote this comment so he can see it :)

You mentioned how you would take more time on the slanted guides. What would you have done differently if you took your time compared to this?
