Huddison as you know from Discord went all in on the Turtle Beach line.... Velocity One yoke system, Velocity One rudder pedals, Velocity One stand and also the Flight Stick... Yes a Merry Christmas to me...... 😀.. Looking forward to using them.
Currently using the V1 flight stick with 2 Logitech/Saitek throttle quadrants, Tflight rudder pedals, a Razer Tartarus, and head tracking or VR headset. I have to take issue with the comment that the V1 flight stick stiffness is accurate, perhaps it was similar to the flight you took in that particular aircraft, but I’ve had stick time in an old school cub, and a T-38 talon, and only the T-38 was close, and only because of the higher speed, properly trimmed even that was less stiff at pattern speeds, and a T-38 landing speed is higher than many general aviation aircrafts top speed. And the cub was considerably less stiff than the V1 flight stick. You already know my thoughts on the V1 yoke 😂 even more so now that I have the 2 Logitech throttle quadrants, the V1 throttle quadrant is amazing especially the trim wheel, but the V1 flight stick trim wheel is as good or close in my opinion and the four sliders for throttles etc is not enough for accurate simulation of multi engine propeller aircraft or 4 engine commercial aircraft. Of course the ideal throttle quadrant is the Honeycomb, and I may get one next year, but will need my tax refund for that lol. Another great video that will be a great help to flight simmers looking for more immersion. 👍
@@Huddison No, you're thinking of the Force Feedback Pro. I did play on mates though, very good force feedback in Jedi Knight & Mechwarrior, it wasn't cheap...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_SideWinder#Precision_Pro that is/was the line up...
@@Huddison I have some money from Christmas present. I’m thinking of adding with a used Honeycomb yoke and Logitech throttle and Saitek Cessna trim wheel but I’m a bit put off by paying over £100 for a yoke without force-feed back. Do you think the trim wheel, throttle paired up with a Sidewinder 2 force feedback and XPForce would make for a better simulation as you’re getting some feedback from the stick?
Hi from the Clanger. Love your video`s, very good review of the new stuff , i,m a luckey chap , a 3080ti , VR hp2 , quad block amps , thrustmaster pedals and combat stick , yoko yoke , tq6 etc, but i have all the old CH products and many thousands of hours of happy crashing.
I had the hotas one with gamepad, keyboard and mouse on the Series X from day one console release. The throttle part doesn't work anymore but I've upgraded to the velocity one yoke and I absolutely love it!
Back in the day I had a Kempston joystick for my ZX Spectrum ha ha! Years later I progress to a Logitech Attack 3D stick... used that on various games and Sims over the years, solid stick and still works prefectly. When MSFS2020 came out I only had a budget for a Logitech X52 HOTAS (expensive a few years ago) which I brought off a mate. Still use it now and does the job, but may be looking to upgrade soon... possibly a Velocity One yoke system
Turtle beach yoke saitek rudder pedals coming for Christmas. Hopefully I can afford to purchase set up a flight sim with 3 monitors for a more realistic experience. Still need to have cash for the $100 hamburger flight. But in reality the burger has at least doubled if not tripled in cost since 2001 when I got my ticket to fly.
@@Huddison that when a group of pilots get together and visit an airport that usually around a one hour flight with a resturaunt on the airport.in (usually) a single engine airplane. This has been called the $100 hamburger due to the cost of using an aircraft to travel about two hours round trip For something that’s available where you live. The $100 hamburger is just an excuse to rent a plane for the day and enjoy being with a group of like minded people. It’s actually no longer $100 even if you own the plane. It’s closer to $250 dollars today.
I currently have the T1600/TWCS/Pedals for stick&rudder and the Airbus Captain kit as well. Those are all from Thrustmaster (TM). I am very much eyeing the V1 though for GA. Probably wont get the stand, and will use the TM pedals I already have.
Thank you for this H. I have V1 Flt Stk, + mouse. V1 stand on order and am considering V1 yoke and pedals for fixed wing use. I too find the Flt Stk too stiff, particularly when flying helos when practicing hover. Keeping a lot of ‘right boot’ in is quite fatiguing - but my old wrists are not what the were and pins and needles soon set in. The learning curve on establishing the Helo Control Settings is quite steep and needs a significant amount of work. But well worth the effort. My ‘hovering circle of exploration’ has now reduced to a few feet from an original football field !! It is difficult and needs lots of practice..great fun if frustrating at times. Thank you for all your inspirational work. Have a Great Christmas and a very Happy Hogmanay.
Merry Christmas all and Huddison hope you’re doing better!!! I currently am using Logitech flight home with bravo throttle quadrant, Logitech radio panel and just the rudder pedals that came with a thrustmaster warthog hotas. Happy with all and with drivers everything works seamlessly! Well, Happy New Year all and happy flying!!
much thanks for all your videos. im rolling with an xbox series x and the velocity yoke and pedals on a 74" tv. the extra imersion is amazing. only have a couple of hours on it so far and can not wait for more. learning curve was minimal.
Using the VelocityOne yoke and very happy with that. Just purchased X-Plane 12 and need to configure it to work with that. New X-Plane user so not quite sure about doing that yet. Would like to add the stand especially but it's not available here yet. I think that would be great to be able to play in the living room on the Xbox. Might eventually add the rudder pedals but don't feel the need for those quite yet.
Yes the V1 Flight Triggers are fine to use as Rudders to begin with' but it's an amazing combo when you eventually are able to get the stand and Rudder Pedals.
Currently using Alpha & Bravo; Logitech G Pro Flight Rudder Pedals; 3 Flight Instrument Panels; a radio panel and a multi panel all mounted on Next Level Racing F-GT with castors until I get the Next Level Racing Boeing Commercial Edition once the prices drop some eh! Also have the Thrustmaster HOTAS Wathog stick and airbus throttle quadrant and joystick :) :)
As far as flight simming is concerned , there is a plethora of very good new peripherals, in fact we are now spoilt fot choice all i could get in the old days was CH products . What is surprisingly good is the Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition . Thanks for your video review the Brunner yoke( WOW) is news and a revelation to me. WOW!
It's sad that FFB on flight sim stuff was (kind of) the norm some fifteen years ago and now it's only reserved to peripherals with ridiculously bloated price tags for the hardware and r&d required. Compare any of these to a good racing sim wheel/pedals combo and you'll be blown away by the markup on flight sim stuff.
Hotas one is worth it all the way , I don’t mind the velocity one flight stick but man the velocity is way too stiff for my liking . Both good units but i prefer the Hotas One !
I'm on the Thrustmaster Hotus One and wireless keyboard and mouse. The Hotus is still pretty unused despite having had it for a year but I like the idea of a yoke, coming from racing sims i'm more used to a wheel so it might suit me better. I'm going to wait to see if MSFS 2024 actual works for me for a while though before looking further. With all the issues I'm currently having i'm not convinced it's going to warrant any extra outlay 😔
Update to this. Loving the sim after those initial release problems and definitely looking at expanding my peripherals to get even more out of the sim. I think the radio panel that works on the Xbox might be one of the first things I go for.
Hi Huddison could I ask I’ve downloaded North Sea to my msfs2020 but how do I open it to play. I follow all ur videos with great interest & find them very easy to follow & have been a great help to me. Any advise would be appreciated thx Paul 😊
Have you had any issues with the Velocity one Flight yoke on xbox? I'm getting problems with when pausing the game and returning to the game, the engine seems to shut off and I can't restore power so I have to reset the flight. Also, since updating to recent firmware 1.4.0, I've noticed when using the training function, the buttons on the throttle quadrant are not detected whilst the levers still are. Can you test and see if you have these issues?
