You captured every element of this track. Blood and thunder, lok'tar ogar. (I've listened to this over 100 times)~ It is a masterpiece, a modern day Classical piece, equal to that of Bach or Beethoven. THANK YOU PAPA GLENN
23 years of my life. Nothing has touched my heart as the orcish part of the WC 2 soundtrack and the memory of a warcraft that doesn't exist anymore. Much has happened, too much, since that WoW expansion "The Burning Crusade"... I watched a full let's play with every single cutscene from the unreleased Warcraft Adventures just now. Despite the overall comedic and light-hearted tone, the more serious cutscenes held the Old Warcraft spirit high! To bad it never were released. I would've loved it as a kid. By the standard of the excellent 2D cutscenes, I think Warcraft would've been amazing as an animated series. But If it were produced now, It wouldn't matter. WoW maybe a good pass-time experience with friend but lore-wise... It's boned... Turning into a kitchen sink power fantasy to appeal to an extremly escapist demographic who never played an earlier iteration of the series. My biggest complaint is that Blizzard have made so much changes in the IP's official canon that no one would never need to play or even know of the unaltered, original RTS games. Sorry for ranting. Your cover is amazing. That's what I really wanted to say. Thank you.
The universe originally was not nearly that bright as "Diablo 3" was. I might actually re-try to play "Lord of the Clans" quest game, though quests not being my game jenre. And yeah, all the retcons...
For me WC2 ost is the best ost for RTS of all time... I used to mute all others rts musics (aoe, wc3, sc2) and put WC2 ost playing in background... WC ost sound so inspiring... Like It makes your feel in a dark war, feel powerfull and até same time with doubts
Warcraft 3 had a great story, but it really feels like a separate branch of the plot compared to the first two games. Sometimes I wonder what Warcraft would've been like if it had followed properly off of Warcraft 2 instead of engaging in retroactive continuity... (Also, while I do like WC3, I haaate WoW. Don't talk to me about it. lol)
Holy cow. I searched and played this on Spotify just now, and, honest to God, I nearly cried. My eyes were welling up for some odd reason, I guess it's because this song is so memorable, sentimental even, and your cover made it even more awesome. Had to search RUclips to post this comment hehe. Thanks dude!
And how can we even wonder if our generation was bound to be metalheads, Everything from films to games with soundtracks led to this... And i was wondering how i became one, now realizing from children shows like Power Rangers to games like Warcraft had metal - perfectly-easily can-be-made-into metal soundtracks
@@RammmFanIt's because it's classical music, it's so well constructed and structured that you're only left with instrumental choice. Igorr is also a great band that merges classical works into contemporary instrumentation and it is divine to listen to, even if it is death metal (well partially, it considers itself to be break-core)
Holy shit, that's a pretty heavy barrage of riffs 😬🤯 I fucking love it! 🤘🤘🤘 I'm such a sucker for the Warcraft 2 OST, these delicacies of arrangements translate very well into metal just like I thought, but that's quite an understatement in this case! Epic work, sir, and thanks for sharing 😎👌
Warcraft will never be as good as WC2. In both story potential or music. Gameplay, it's only second to Warcraft 3. My childhood, of 1998... A time of real orcs. ❤ Thank you, for making me remember why I love orcs, in almost all fantasy litersture, so strongly even to this day.

@@kohank5938 In same way as Starcraft 1 Remastered - totally agree! But if they will force W3/WoW art stylein W2 remaster - totally disagree and just leave it alone.
Your Orc 2 metal remix is still unbeatable but its hard to beat that masterpiece, this is one is still pretty good but way to fast in some parts 0:31 for my taste. Anyways i appreciate what you are doing, looking forward for more magnificent Wc2 remixes in future.

Man, one more thing. I think you are using original tracks in some places. I don't know what you know, but original warcraft soundtrack is played on Roland SC-55 synthesiser and you have an iMac what means.... Okay. There is Audio Unit "DSLMusicDevice" - check it out in your sequencer software. It was built-in in Apple computers in 90s. And it's built-in today, but not many Mac users knows that. It's exactly Roland SC-55. I use Presonus S1 and I can see this device by default in "Apple" category. In Logic Pro it's in AU Instruments->Apple->DSLMusicDevice. If you paste Warcraft 2 soundtrack in MIDI here you'll hear 99% accurate sound of Warcraft 2, so you can mix orchestra instruments louder with your guitar. At least it works in Studio One. The problem in Studio One is that there is no interface for this DSLMusicDevice and I have to switch instruments by using automation :) Roland SC-55 was one of the most popular "General Sound" synths like some of Yamaha and Korg synthesisers. (not to be mistaken with General MIDI). And I'm waiting for Human Theme #1 ! )
A man who created this music in 90s did not expect he will become a forefather of powermetal genre...
The harpsichord is what makes orc 1 so great, and you nailed it in your cover.

Awesome adaptation! Glad to see you are still working your way through the different tracks for War2! Hope to be able to listen to them all one day :)

I wish we could see Glenn react to this. Make it happen people!
