  • Hampstead has many great pubs and inns, and Neil and I are out again in the area to find them. We like traditional “real ale” and enjoy a good dark pint of beer. Join us for our wanders.

    can i ask what hours you take to do one of your pub trawls? i'd be rather squiffier than you two!

      We usually meet up around midday and head straight for a café for a brunch. We quit in time to get back for a late train home. We have lots of fun. Cheers, Warren :)

    Hey Warren, that glowfly looked like a pint of drain water , pretty flat as well 😂 i know you like your old man brown beer but a good hazy IPA is the absolute best - great pub videos - well done on the SDW 👌 Dan did well, need to get that James out 😂 although he’s told me that he doesn’t wanna trek - just a short walk to a wild camp from a pub 😂

      Ha! “Old man brown beer” is a great description except I’ve always liked real ales. Does that mean I’ve always been old? Thank you for following along. Cheers. Warren 🤠

    What this video has shown me is that on my forthcoming visit to London from Scotland next May, is that Hampstead is an area I'll be avoiding like the plague. Gastro Pub HELL!! Even the lure of the Harvey' Sussex Best from that early place wouldn't get me there. I think Farrow and Ball must have shares in the pubs of that area, their paintwork is everywhere! Great video again though!

      Fair point about the colour schemes and styles but we like roaming around different areas seeing what's around. Where do you plan to visit next May? Maybe I could do a special tour around that area for you ;)
      Cheers, Warren

      @@Linleys I've got a few areas lined up, Wapping, Borough, Fleet St/Strand, Camden, and Belgravia are the first choices at the moment. Looking forward to a proper pint of Harveys at the Royal Oak in Borough, and also excited to have a pint in the Grenadier at Belgravia.

      can i give you some suggestions? i live in london and travel round the place but don't document/ vlog.
      Express Tavern - kew bridge station (get there from waterloo) - terrific pub almost next door to the station, several ales and ciders on cask;
      Williams ale and cider house - liverpool st station, main exit by wh smiths turn left outside cross the road 2nd right Artillery Lane. again a good pub, lots of cask ales and ciders plus dart boards which is quite rare these days.;
      Ship & Shoval - charing cross station, main exit turn left, turn left into craven st then turn left again down an alley and the pub is split in half. one side is always open, the other opens when there's loads of customers. great atmosphere and lovely beer;
      Cask pub - Pimlico station - right out the station go straight down tachbrook st and it's on the right. looks like a fifties american diner but don't let this put you off. amazing selection of beer plus it has an expensive beer cellar where you can buy beer (i kid you not) at upto £3,000 a a bottle!;
      Ramsgate tavern - wapping station. turn left out the station and keep going. lovely pub, rear "garden" sits over the thames and roughly below there used to be a gibbet where they hung people;
      royal oak - borough station, directly cross the main road, its then across the road at a 45 degree angle to tabard st. really lovely little local with great beer.
      these pubs would give you a really good idea of different areas and different styles pf pubs n london.
      enjoy!

      You spotted the glass turn! I think the glass should match the beer if possible! Thank you for following along. Cheers, Warren. 🤠

    Pub culture is still alive and well. The older ones have the best feeling by the look of it. Pull on another wobbly boot Warren. Bushyboy Oz.

      The older inns usually have a traditional style as long as this hasn’t been painted over and lost. Nice to explore the different places. Cheers, Warren 🤠
