      It would be 10/10 if you had the folder tree on folder tabs, just like in Project tabs. You know what I mean? :D

    This should be a feature for standard unity future versions.

      That's how it works. Great apps from android and apple phones became standard features for the os. Your extension/app creators are your experiment for what to add. Sometimes it's not cool, like a rip off for the creator, sometimes it's a buy out.

    If you want this for free for just assets, right click the asset and select "Properties" that will open a dockable inspector which you can put wherever you need it.
    Huge fan of the drag / open pinned folders though :D

    all the kubacho lab tools are quite useful, the v2 ones do not have some of the bugs and issues that some of the v1 tools had

    You can already right click on most things and select Properties... (at the bottom) to open just that asset from the Project window or component from the Inspector (use it's title bar in this case} to open it in its own window.
    This asset seems like it has some additional QOL features though. 😊

      Yeah, but the main feature is being able to tab a folder, so useful

    Dang, this should absolutely be built into Unity. This would help so much on larger projects.

    Hey Jason, technical artist over here. If you like speeding up your workflow, maybe some of the techniques I follow on big projects will help you. I share them as comments. I hope you find some of them useful :)

      2) Use the Alt + P shortcut. If you have a commonly used file like game_settings_so or inventory_settings_so, click it, click Alt + P, and it opens that file's properties in a separate window.

      3) Shortcuts class. Let's say you are working on a big project. You need to check some scriptables frequently, also you need to change scene, you need to check prefabs, etc. Instead of searching those file names every time, use this: Create a class. Set public arrays for GameObject, Scene, Materials etc. Create an empty object and prefabricate it. Give this class that empty gameobject. Alt + P to that prefab. Now you have a window that serializes arrays for different types. Drag your frequently used files into those arrays, and now you can go to those file locations with one click instead of typing their names. This one especially speeds up my workflow since I need to work on a lot of different assets as a technical artist.

      1) Rainbow Folders. RUclips deletes my comments on this one for some reason, so I am not going to explain the best use of this package, but don't forget that there is an older version of this package on GitHub for free.

    Do the tabs remain when you close and reopen the same project (without saving)?

    • @kubacho-lab
      @kubacho-lab 4 месяца назад +1

      Yes, the tabs are saved automatically
