none of new island's sound tracks i found memorable, in fact i physically couldn't bring myself to even finish the game about halfway through because of just how soulless the game felt, it also didnt help that the music was just so weak that i eventually went to EB Games and got rid of it because of just how bad New Island was
Easily in my opinion Yoshi's New Island is the worst entry in the yoshi series: alright control's but suffer's from poor design choices, awful use of the 3DS's gyroscope, terrible music and really bad bosses (seriously the mini-bosses are ONLY Kamek and then the main bosses are just pathetically easy), If you ask me if you should pick New Island or Crafted World...i'd say Crafted World all the way

How dare they take a glorious final boss full of stress, banging heavy metal, and just pure awesomeness as you are fighting baby godzilla.... but then make him a shitty insult that is stupid, has no idea how to fight, does not even look like a threat, have insulting attacks, like one of them is just changing the landscape several times! LIKE HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO EVEN GET HIT BY THAT?!?! Oh, and the music that plays in this fight is the most forgettable in gaming! Oh you thought it's over?! WRONG!!! Because Deus Ex Machina strikes back in the form of Bowser from the future! How? Yes. His first form does not do as much, but a bit better then what you just went through... ONLY TO DUMP IT ALL IN HIS GIANT FORM!!!! Thought the fight before is a insulting ripoff of an amazing final boss? Well, Giant Bowser is a ripoff of a ripoff of an amazing final boss! Like are they lazy or what?!?! Even then, he's only 1% harder! A boss always should learn from his past mistakes if you fight them multiple times. 1.- I really enjoyed this. As someone who is son to an artist teacher and that studied singing a... couple... of years ago, I find it fascinating how your musical knowledge can influence your abilities to tell apart how awful can a soundtrack be and give it a better analysis than most tend to do.
2.- As a Venezuelan myself, I find it sad that this list was topped by a "game" made in here. When you do a "Top Five Best Soundtracks in Videogames", please know that there is a Venezuelan game with a really good soundtrack called VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action. Also the game itself is good.
3.- I recommend doing a Top Five Games made in Latin America. Trust me, there are plenty of good games made in Latin America. Long Gone Days (Chile) and -11 Hall-A (Venezuela) are good example of this (there are plenty of good games made in México), it's all just a matter of digging up names and much searching... there's even a game made in Uruguay that's exclusive to the PSVita.

I am so glad Crazy Bus is #1 on this list XD oh man it almost feels like an homage to the Angry Video Game Nerd with that, and the NES Terminator soundtrack at the very end. Both equally terrible soundtracks. Loved the video!

    Honorable mentions
    - Hong Kong 97 (NES), one song..... no, one sentence looping over and over.
    - Doom 2 (Atari Jaguar), what soundtrack!
    - Beetlejuice (NES), cheery, upbeat music....... for a game about a Tim Burton dark comedy
    Disagreement
    - Just one, specifically Metal Man's stage from Mega Man 2 (GB), the high pitch caught me off guard and I just went with it, but it's certainly not better than the original.

I’d be surprised if Sonic Genesis isn’t on this- that game makes me want to burn my hearing canals out.
Also the best music belongs to bad games. Tim Follin~
Sonic Chronicles has bad music but it’s nowhere near as painful as Sonic Genesis tbh
How dare you disgrace the beauty of Trumpet Massacre. It’s scary! More specifically, scary about how someone could think it’s a good idea. How scary!
CrazyBus was literally made with a random song generator, that’s why it sucks.

The genesis had an fm synth chip and a basic pulse generator inside, so that's why it sounds so distinctly weird. (On top of that, the chip--a YM2612--Had some weird ladder distortion going on.)
All things considered, the Genesis' sound was Sega's fault for chasing fads (and cheaping out), and the composers did pretty well with what they were given.
So there ya go, in case you need some reading material.

It kind of annoys me when people bash the concept of a Sonic RPG of unfitting, as if the concept of a Mario RPG was any more fitting before Nintendo proved how good it could be. Like, imagine if the concept of a Mario RPG had been dismissed and not given a chance in the same way.
That said, I wish the Sonic RPG we did get was a bit better... Maybe then it'd have gained some traction even without people giving it a chance.

"...the further you go back into the history of video games, the worse the music generally gets"
Adventure Island 1 through 3. Adventures of Lolo, Megaman 1 through 6, Mario 1, Mario 3, Bubble Bobble, Air Fortress, Balloon Fight, Batman: Return of the Joker, Blaster Master, Bucky O Hare, Castlevania 1 through 3, Clash at Demonhead, Darkwing Duck, Felix the Cat, Joy Mech Fight, Kid Icarus, Kirby's Adventure, Battletoads, Metal Storm, Nightmare on Elm Street, Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2, River City Ransom. All of those games (and many more I am currently unable to remember at the moment) are examples of games with *good music* especially given the limitations of the time.
[Sees Megaman II on the list]
    Excusemewhatthefuck?
What most people don't seem to understand about the soundtrack of Megaman II is that the composers had *absolutely no experience* with the Gameboy. They knew what music they *wanted* to make but due to lack of experience and different limitations what we got is the result.

A RUclipsr replaced the instrumentation for the Basement theme but kept the notes intact. It actually now sounds like a horror theme. So, from what I could infer, somewhere down the line, someone replaced all the instrumentation with the trumpet sound right before they put the music into the game. Maybe that person wanted to see if the composer was actually deaf and did it as a test.
