    In this video, I walk you through a Modcuase assembly. The specific example is a MAX150 case; however, the general process works for any case, including DF or Sixth series display cases. In late 2023, Moduspace stopped pre-assembling the front face of the case due to packaging changes. I've updated this video with instructions for that here • Moduspace Moducase Fro... as well as placed a pop out card link in the video.

    One of the best construction videos I've seen! Great job giving clear directions, and visuals, all one-handed too!
    I just finished putting together 3 DF120s and 3 DF60s, so everything went really smooth for me. Would have been a 30 min construction, except I didn't like the acrylic sealers jutting out on the last bar placed on top of them, so I redid that with the sealer inside of the bars.

    Thanks, this really helped me out. I was struggling quite a bit, took four and a half hours to build just one. 1/3 MAX 150's built for me tonight though! Hardest part is getting the acrylic side panels in. It seems the newest batches don't have the screws pre-put in (assuming you didnt put them in yourself) - if youre confused like me - grab the longest screws and screw em in yourself to about the point that you've reproduced whats shown in this video. Also the backboard/top board is now white on one side - put these facing outwards of course. No pre made holes for lighting for me either so ill have to cut those out myself - prefer that though.

    • @Dan14thPrime
      @Dan14thPrime  Год назад +1

      Sounds rough. The screws is something they seem to go back and forth with. Back at their start, you use to have to set the screw yourself but then they started doing it for you. Maybe given how far behind they’ve fallen, they stopped setting the screws again 🤷‍♂️. The back boards are now reversible so you face the black or white side according to preference. Odd you didn’t have holes cut though, I’ve never seen that one. Thanks for checking out the video 👍

    Why would you put the back panel so the holes are at the bottom? Wouldn't it make more sense to put them at the top so you don't have to hide the vertical run of the wires on the inside?
    That little nook is super sharp with the massive MAX150s. Looks amazing.

    • @Dan14thPrime
      @Dan14thPrime  3 года назад +2

      Thanks. 👍 To your question, the bottom board covers those holes so everything finishes solid and black. If you flipped it with holes up top, not only would you see the holes, you’d slightly have to jog out the wire and see it too.

    Thank you for sharing the video, but I have to ask….
    How on earth do you get the side glass in? It’s a wobbly mess! I’ve spent two hours just trying to seat it and then trying to get the front bar on. I’ve never had a more frustrating install experience from such an expensive product.

    • @Dan14thPrime

      Usually straddling it with it squeezed between my palms down low near the trim strip and trying to just get it started. From there, once you put the back bar on and tighten it down, it just forces it in the rest of the way.

      Cool! I’ll give that a try on the next shelf. Just had 6 units show up and am in the process of putting them together. Got one done, and it had two shelves in it. Took a long time and don’t even have the lights in yet! Thankfully they look awesome, but I questioned my decision to buy a few times putting the first one together. Your video is really good - appreciate you helping folks like me out!

    Great video. However, I'm absolutely stuck right at the beginning as my case that just arrived doesn't have the preassembled frame. They are all in pieces. Therefore, it is glossed over and I'm already stuck as to what orientation and what piece goes where etc. Granted I tend to not be great at building this kind of stuff, but the instruction manual in conjunction with this is also not helpful as it not only begins with it assembled too, but it is a cube shaped frame, not the same shape as in the video and I have.
    Ugh, this will take longer than expected...

    • @davehall8924
      @davehall8924 11 месяцев назад

      I'm mostly stuck as to how the screw goes into the side to assemble that first main frame. It doesn't appear long enough to go through and screw in. Probably missing something simple here, but extremely frustrating!

    • @Dan14thPrime
      @Dan14thPrime  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I just got another Max 150 and noticed the same. I’m planning on doing an update video. In the meantime, place the 4 pieces magnet side down. The piece with the screw hole, put at the top. Make sure the raised edges of each pieces is around the outside. That’s how you orient it. And you can put those 4 pieces together in any order to make the face frame. From there, the rest of this video still works.

    • @davehall8924
      @davehall8924 11 месяцев назад

      @@Dan14thPrime thanks so much for the reply. Okay, I've got it in the correct orientation. Apologies as I'm clearly missing something here, but how would you explain how to assemble them? The screw (from one of the bags that have the larger screws) doesn't fit through when I put it through the side of the larger piece to go through to insert into the smaller piece? Is it something completely different I need to do?

    • @Dan14thPrime
      @Dan14thPrime  11 месяцев назад

      @@davehall8924 I think the screw stuff is in this video so you may want to watch it for overall context and understanding. But basically you take a long screw and a washer with it, and you set (begin to screw in) it into the end of the aluminum bars. The screw head and washer then slides into another bars T-slot. And you use the wrench provided to tighten the screw, through the holes that go through the bars. This keeps it all hidden and “inside” the casing. Check the vid.

    Great video. Best one I've seen on assembling of the Moducase. Really torn between getting the Max150 or Max 70. If I go with the Max150 I would need additional lights and shelf. If you have done this yourself, are they fairly easy to install?

    When you put the reducer on the sidepanel there, did you have any issues with it pushing in flush into the Backbar as you screw in? My first attempt seemed like it didn't push fully in so it was sticking out a bit which was annoying but if I put the reducer in the bar first then try to slide them in the screws get caught and I can get them in properly.

    • @Dan14thPrime
      @Dan14thPrime  2 года назад

      No never had that issue. Th reducer, panel and frame are all going to get pulled in flush as you tighten the screws down. It may be that you don’t have the reducer centered/spaced evenly. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Hey, Dan! For the top shelf, is that a max 140, or did you simply just connect the two 150s with two shelves?

    • @Dan14thPrime
      @Dan14thPrime  3 года назад +1

      Hi, are you asking about the case on top of the 150s? That is a modified Max140Plus case. It’s same width and depth but I had them make about 3” taller to fill out the nook.

    • @WillFoxification
      @WillFoxification 3 года назад +2

      @@Dan14thPrime Yep! That answers it. I'm considering getting two max 150 plus and then getting a taller max 140 like what you have. Do you find the 150s are tall enough without risers?

    • @Dan14thPrime
      @Dan14thPrime  3 года назад +1

      @@WillFoxification Riser is just a personal choice if you want you’re display higher. My main issue with 150 is that I collect a lot of 1/3 and by the time you put a 1/3 in there, it eats up the whole case. Not much room for anything else. I’ll probably pull the Knightfall Batman out of there because of it. Max150 is great for one half scale or two shelves of 1/4 scales. The Max150plus may help that a bit but depends on size of the 1/3 - some go 35”+.

    • @WillFoxification
      @WillFoxification 3 года назад +1

      @@Dan14thPrime Yeah, see I buy a lot of 1/3, but also a lot of 1/4. Is there a better size for 1/3? I'm guessing custom boxes would be needed.

    • @Dan14thPrime
      @Dan14thPrime  3 года назад +1

      @@WillFoxification I think the Max150plus is suppose to be better for 1/3 if you want to also use a shelf to split the case but it will depend on your pieces. I think Max 150Plus tried to give more like 60” interior height but that’s still a little short for two 1/3. Would work great though for a 1/3 and 1/4 probably in the same case. Otherwise, yes custom. I have some custom cases coming - some have 40” interior height which will accommodate most 1/3 well. I also got a couple with 50” interior height for monster pieces (like Superman Hush).

    • @Dan14thPrime

      I think you need them. The aluminum is fragile. The washers distribute the force so the aluminum doesn’t tear or bend.

      Max can work for 1/3 but it’s not ideal. I’d recommend the MaxPlus line for 1/3 or just have custom dimension case made from them. The latter is most ideal so you can best fit the cases to your collection.
