This lathe is not quite as big as the one I run. It can swing 38" in diameter and 128" between centers. But this one has 2 turrets. Cool,
Big is a Wohlenburg or Heyligenstadt machine, or machines with spindle bores above 10" ...and center distances of 20 feet ....and horsepowers above 50 hp.

I was a manual machinist for more than 37 years and largest machine i ran as engine lathe was a meuser 9ft chuck and 87ft long
I also ran a vertical turret lathe which table width was 25ft but always swing 27ft 4 inches, and 22ft tall
I'm the %1 that has craned a 1 ton steel shaft into a long bed lathe, centered it and turned steady rest diameters then supported it with a tailstock for between centers turning using a drive dog. No biggie.
Question? what machine made the parts for this machine.Shocked not likely, maybe agog.

I’m not sure what you think a big cnc machine is but this is definitely not one I worked in a fairly small machine shop and we had CNC machines we had to climb inside and walk around inside the chip pan to clean it out these are very small CNC machines!

Im assuming that the title lost something in translation when they say "biggest CNC Lathe Machine"....Those things are small, we have Norton and Niles lathes that are 3 times that size and handle parts up to 30' long and 6 foot in diameter. Just another clickbait headline to grab views. On a side note, whoever programmed the "finish pass" on that first lathe should be fired, that surface finish is disgusting.
Help, know anyone who can put a shine on some durston rollers for me? I've been fighting with their excuse of a product
@@lordeverybody872 You need to find somebody who is able to do a process called burnishing, it will put a mirror finish on those rollers easily unless there is significant pitting or gouges, then they may need to be turned and then burnished.
You can put me in the 1% who is not shocked by this.

I guess you win because I'm commenting, but where I work the CNC lathes have 60 Feet between centers and 6 foot swing over the bed. Blew my mind when I started. Needless to say the lathe in this video is tiny comparatively.

You would be shocked to see the lathe at Alice manufacture it vertical and take 15-foot diameter shaft. 30 foot long. It was not CNC at the time of when it was put in 1900s.

I ran laths bigger than that 40 years ago when you had to be a Machinist. No robot or computer's..
As a hobby machinist, I am in awe of folks that did this kind of work, before there where folks that call themselves machinists as they push a button. Granted they went to school and learned, but when I ask where they manual machinery is, they usually rely, that it is back there somewhere, we aren't allowed to use it.
