The video you posted of this 6(ish?) Years ago is why I subscribed and have been watching ever since. Love that you've just developed it and made it even more beautiful!
Many years ago I was briefly in a standards trio where the singer played cello. We arranged this song so that the cello played the melody at the start of the song, with guitar and electric piano playing the harmony, and then switched the melody to guitar with the cello playing the bass part. You never get tired of this melody and the way it joins up the chords. 🍂
This guitar rendition of "Autumn Leaves" is beautiful and timeless. It's impressive to see how musicians interpret this classic piece. Paul's skill and dedication shine through in every note. 🍂🎸
I remember learning Autumn leaves from your channel like 2 or 3 years ago and here we are again another beautiful arrangement. Back in that time I had a drive to learn newer chords and now I try and learn everything by ear in order to find little chords and melodies to add into my own recipes I've come a long way yet I cannot miss your videos
Man, Paul, you're playing has gotten so much better the past year or so. I don't mean that in any backhanded way. You've been a very good player for a long time, but you're at a new level now.
Paul I love you 😭 I’ve kicked up my practice time to at least an hour a day, and I’m joining a band soon as lead guitarist, it’s because of you and videos like this that keep me coming back for more on guitar. Thank you. ❤️
@ I love the blues and rock!! I take after John Mayer, if you haven’t already, he gave a little masterclass on RUclips, he talked about the pentatonic scale and how to use it in soloing. It was super helpful for me!!
At 15:59 “I didn’t really think about the chords [ when I was nutting it out]” then went on to say you used theory to describe or explain what you were doing. I have heard this before as the roll theory has in communicating to others what has been an intuitive process. Very helpful for my approach to playing guitar and communicating with others, such as in a musical group setting of in helping others to learn.
Dit is echt oprecht perfectie. Het is de pracht van gitaar, de spanning naar de oplossing. Ik kan het niet verworden hoe lekker ik dit liedje toch wel niet vind klinken!!! Bedankt
Thank you, Paul! I've been looking for an arrangement of Autumn Leaves that is both beautiful and manageable forever. I'm really looking forward to learning it, and I love the way you layered the lesson for everyone --even lifetime cowboy chord strummers like me.
@ completely different. They basically handed me a lead sheet and said figure it out. So I made my own arrangement 🤘🏻 There’s so many ways to play or interpret these songs. A lot of people play this in E minor but I play it in G minor
Great tone and playing. And others beat me to it, but if you haven't sat in a quiet room with really good headphones on and listened to Eva Cassidy sing this, then your musical experience is not complete. She is such a spectacular interpreter of songs and that one in particular is un-believable.
I used to have a tele that I sold in order to buy a Les Paul. I love LP, but I think that Tele is the guitar I play best. Still not at your level, of course, you’re simply fantastic. I love your touch and style
My friend Sam was taken from us on my college campus back in February. He was gifted at guitar and played in the concerto. He noticed my playing and this was the one and only song he recommended I play, since he thought I would really love it. Thanks Paul! I’ll be checking this out
Thank you Paul! It is your videos like this that reinvigorated my guitar playing a few years ago. Please continue to do videos like this. Amazing playing and fantastic teaching. Thank you!
Love these standards lessons, Paul. That they can be as complex or simple as you want makes them so accessible to such a wide skill level is ❤😊 Thank you so much. I've just about got your Funny Valentine lesson under my belt and will definitely be adding this afterwards!
Yves Montand est l'excellent premier interprète de cette chanson mais on doit la musique à Joseph Kosma puisqu'il s'agit dans cette vidéo de la mélodie de la chanson (et les paroles sont de Jacques Prévert).
Playing is excellent as always, but the sound of this tele is amazing. I remember your story about how you found that guitar , lost her for a while and later how you met again...
Your videos are shot so well. The camera quality, the angles, the background. You have such a warm setting with your videos with the lighting and the way you speak, it invites anyone who’s watching to keep watching all the way through. Quality matters and I can tell you work hard on having good quality videos. Really great work brother👍 Also beautiful piece of music here👌
Beautiful arrangement. Yesterday, I enrolled for your intermediate course. Hope it will bring me the fundamentals to go through such master piece of harmony soon :)
This is hands down the best arrangement of this song to me. Some arrangements go beyond the original and so is yours here I would say. On another note, I also love to listen the version of this song sang by Cecile Bredie in a Cafe del Mar album; again pushing it beyond the original to my ears.
I learned the wonderful acoustic arrangement in B minor that you posted years ago and I love it. This is Leo beautiful as well and I will learn it too! Thank you, Paul. You are a great teacher.
This is great. A truly beautiful song. Piaf's version a favourite.....and Coldplay's version is amazing. Listen to it if you don't know it. Many thanks for this. I am buying an electric guitar at Xmas so cannot wait to give it a go.
Telecaster and a Jazz tune? Someone is still high on Julian Lange 😊 how can I blame you, he is amazing as this tune and as this channel! Love from Italy
I learned the wonderful acoustic arrangement in B minor that you posted years ago and I love it. This is so beautiful as well and I will learn it too! Thank you, Paul. You are a great teacher. I have purchased three of your courses :-)
WOW ! I've been very surprised when i realized you were playing the firsts notes of this french classic " Les feuilles mortes" . Your version is beautiful !
I agree, so poignant...and Tony Bennett. One of the best non-guitar instrumental (piano) versions is Bill Charlap (Trio) - Live At The Village Vanguard. Charlap and Bennett collaborated a lot as well on many great standards.
I learnt this number from your first video... and it started me on improvising! I'll sit down with this version later, in slow-time, when I can give it the attention it deserves!
What is also cool about this is that you can sing Wild World by Yusuf Islam over the verse and also Suicide is Painless the theme tune from the film M.A.S.H. Not that I suggest you do, this is a beautiful arrangement, made my day.
If you want to learn this piece don't forget to save the video for later :) Thanks for watching everyone, I appreciate you all
Lovely to listen to, thanks for posting
Danke well ❤
Love your arraignment of this song, very guitar centric, taking full advantage of the guitar's sweet strengths.
Thank You again Paul.
Dank je wel Paul! Enjoying you sharing your musical talent! Cheers
❤
The video you posted of this 6(ish?) Years ago is why I subscribed and have been watching ever since. Love that you've just developed it and made it even more beautiful!
i also thought it was an old video, but I'm so happy it wasn't.
Same here!
Total pro. Yeets pick across the studio, smirks, keeps playing. We don’t need another take. Thanks Paul.

That sounds nice!
As a Player of 63yrs. And a Teacher for over 25yrs. Watching and Learning from You Makes My Day Complete! Thank You! Paul
OMG that beautiful warm tone.
This guitar rendition of "Autumn Leaves" is beautiful and timeless. It's impressive to see how musicians interpret this classic piece. Paul's skill and dedication shine through in every note. 🍂🎸
Thanks!
My favorite song covered by Eric Clapton is my favorite version . His solos on there are what taught me about guitar
@@georgevillanueva6926 I just went and listened to it, I added that to my blues playlist very soon after… 😂 great song.
I love that version. Eva Cassidy's is also amazing.
Which One is the original?
@@timo.f1the original is called ‘Les Feuilles Mortes’ performed by Jacques Prévert

Hey mate what styles do you play, I have the same goals as you, ready to give an hour each day
@ I love the blues and rock!! I take after John Mayer, if you haven’t already, he gave a little masterclass on RUclips, he talked about the pentatonic scale and how to use it in soloing. It was super helpful for me!!
@ lemme see if I can find a link hold tight
My god, that tone.... So airy, yet defined.
nice microphone, that neumann and that tele... what amp is this going through???
Its muddy clear, i love it. But not airy
Beautifully played and great tone!
got a paul davids ad before i watched this
i wish i could improvise like u, ur a genius
Paul, sadly work and responsibilities have prevented me from playing my guitar. I’m inspired, this will get me back. Thank you!
+1
but won't your work and responsibilities suffer if you return to playing guitar? how will you strike a balance?
Bar 28-30 reminds of that legendary intro from Blackbird - Alter Bridge. Beautiful arrangement!

In the words of Max Verstappen… simply lovely.
Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well 😂😂
KI KI AYE!
Please dont ever delete this
Relatively simple but omg it's perfection in melancholy. Lovely tone too
Fantastic song... and the tele sounds so perfect !!! Well done !!!
Thank you for this "hommage". I'm french and this song is so beautiful. And when you play it, it is really wonderful.❤
One of my favourite songs ever. I’ve been playing this for years especially the Eric Clapton version
Thank you, Paul! I've been looking for an arrangement of Autumn Leaves that is both beautiful and manageable forever. I'm really looking forward to learning it, and I love the way you layered the lesson for everyone --even lifetime cowboy chord strummers like me.
I love that song. Sounds awesome on your guitar.
This was the first standard I learned in jazz school. I will always love this song. Thank you for sharing with your big audience
Is this the same arrangement that you learned or it was different?
@ completely different. They basically handed me a lead sheet and said figure it out. So I made my own arrangement 🤘🏻
There’s so many ways to play or interpret these songs.
A lot of people play this in E minor but I play it in G minor
@@BudWilson13 Interesting. Thanks)

Love it!!! This is one of my all time favorites. I will be working on this over the weekend. Thank you for posting this beautiful arrangement.
This is my favorite song. Thank you for covering this.
The quality of your videos... awesome!
I played this song with my guitar group 4 years ago. It's lovely
My friend Sam was taken from us on my college campus back in February. He was gifted at guitar and played in the concerto. He noticed my playing and this was the one and only song he recommended I play, since he thought I would really love it. Thanks Paul! I’ll be checking this out

Omg that tone! 🤩

@lionel-sc j'ignorais pour Joseph Kosma merci de l'info !
Paul, you should sell this piece on it's own , many can't patreon so many youtubers , but we can cherry pick TABS that we really want. Win Win.
This is so soothing. I'm definitely gonna try this ❤❤❤
I’ll learn it right now. Thanks Paul, beautifully done.
Playing is excellent as always, but the sound of this tele is amazing. I remember your story about how you found that guitar , lost her for a while and later how you met again...
Im obsessed with the tone holy crap
Thank you! You’re very good at teaching!
Paul, the way you have high-lighted the tabs are very helpful. Unique to you, I think. Many thanks.
Paul, this is one of my all time favorite songs and your rendition of it in the intro was breathtaking!
Refreshing to see a beautiful lesson on your channel 😉
Beautiful playing, sounds wonderful!👍❤

Paul, you have tone to die for 🙏🏼

The Bob Ross of guitar teaching. (That is a compliment)
Simply the best
For me, nobody will do this song better than Eva Cassidy. Beautiful song

Beautiful playing and a great analysis...✌️
i love these type of song lessons. loved your previous arrangement as well
Beautifully played...
Paul, it’s true excellent. The greatest French melody!
Nothing beats a butterscotch telecasters sound
Thank you man! 🤟
This is one of my favorite songs. Very excited to listen through. Thanks!!
Thank you for chilling me out on a not so chilled out day 😊
What is also cool about this is that you can sing Wild World by Yusuf Islam over the verse and also Suicide is Painless the theme tune from the film M.A.S.H. Not that I suggest you do, this is a beautiful arrangement, made my day.
Really smart arrangement, so instructive. Thanks!
Beautifully presented lesson David . Tha k you!
