Nice shots and presentation. Although I am no photographer by any means that's what I like about Nikon , it records exactly what you see. The Z8 seems as tack sharp as the Z9 .
Awesome. I started this in the morning and finishing in the evening. As my wife has said, it is amazing what you find and how you make it interesting. Really love it!! Plus, it is always cool to see the other places where we/you live. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🤗💖
Great lens, but I don't enjoy using it on my Z6 much, it's a heavy beast with the FTZ. It's almost dead now (AF motor), but I used it very hard for many years, so no complaints at all. It's a surprisingly nice portrait lens at 70mm f/2.8. You got a lot of good shots in one day there, thanks for the viewing!
Thank you! I guess I'm lucky my focus motor is still working perfectly. I hope it continues to last. I do understand your point about the weight, especially with the FTZ. I have a Z6 too and the balance is not very good on that camera. The balance is a little better on the heavier Z8.
You got a lot of great photos on this walk. I really enjoyed these today. BTW thanks for the shoutout! That other clock is in Jasper TN too. Next time your at the Fisher Evans jewelers just go in and all the way to the back at the register, they have a vintage photo showing that clock that is out front. It is a cool photo.
Thank you! Heather and I are going to Spokane Washington next summer. I was watching a video of someone walking around there and they had a clock that is very similar to the one in Jasper!
Thanks for sharing this video, the way you explain what you’re photographing and how makes your videos interesting and informative! I like it when photographers use their older lenses on the new mirrorless cameras! Keep getting better ❤️🩹, take it slow and don’t overdo it! 😊

Great stuff Phil , the Z8 with the old F mount non VR lens ,that is so cool and makes me feel good because I own the same lens and camera but have not used them together yet. I bought that lens back in about 2012 to go on my D800 and used it for a lot (for me) of landscape and life photos with great results also your positive attitude makes your video very enjoyable. Have a great day.
@@derrickm9808 thank you! I bought that lens to go with my D800 too! Maybe I will replace it with a newer Nikon lens at some point but this one still does well so I haven’t replaced it yet.
Great street photography! I really liked the street crossing shots. I agree the one I liked the best was the last shot. I sold my 24-70 f/2.8G lens and wished I hadn't. I only have the 24-70 f4 Z I miss the 2.8.
Mine is dying too - have you tried aggressively racking the focus ring backwards and forwards a few (or many) times? sometimes it can revive them for a while
Could you put your panorama into Photoshop and use perspective or distort on each end to make it more rectilinear? These days I do street with a 24-240, though I often find the 50-500 is good as I like close ups, especially portraits.
@@blisteringbooks2428 that’s a great idea! I also often do street photography with longer lenses, they are really helpful especially in places like Chattanooga where there’s not a lot of foot traffic on the street.
Obviously Canon has new cameras coming but having used the best Nikon, newest Sony system & recent Canon cameras which has the best autofocus for wildlife? I’d guess Sony is still the leader in video. My uncle has the Z8 and loves it. He’s not a wildlife guy though
That's a tough one and hard to quantify. They are all good now. The Z8 is the one that I have had the best luck finding custom settings that make the camera and autofocus easiest to operate.
Nice work Phil! I don’t do street photography. Having sold all my older gear to buy my current R5 with a 100-500 to do wildlife. So basically I own 1 lens wide open at 7.1. In the fall I’ve done some landscape photography at 100mm. I wonder if 100mm is too long for street work? I may just have to give it a try. I’m trying not to get more Canon lenses just yet, as Nikon looks pretty tempting. I’m anxiously awaiting the R7 ii for 2025. Nice work today!

You have inspired me to retry street photography again. The last time I did this was when I was in London many moons ago! I have the exact same setup.

Good to see you out and about again, Phil, hope you're still in good health!

Love the pics of the hand rail and the electrical components! My favorite thing to do with a mirrorless camera is to use old lenses.

I too enjoy shooting wide open, or close to with the lenses I have. So I'm sure I would have made the same mistake with that pedestrian bridge as you!
