im so obsessed with him his voice and range and control is insane. avis range is pretty amazing too tbh. i think they said in an interview somewhere that he has the largest range of them all. he broke a speaker when they were singing live once cause his voice went so low haha. you should do a video checking him out as well as scott hoying
I love when Mitch does runs that are generally in his mid range and then just moves in and hits those high notes so effortlessly. I feel his ability to transition is so nice and I admire it so much so I find runs the best to listen for when it comes to him sometimes even more so than when he holds high notes. I could listen to compilations of his best vocals forever
Yeah i noticed his voice has gotten so much higher since they got recognized. He's clearly been working on it hard....and its paying off in my opinion cuz thats what made him stand out originally and now hes basically known just because of the high notes
yess love Pentatonix, I live for a good harmony 😂 React to Avi Kaplan (from ptx), he's such a good bass and I find it so fascinating how he can sing overtone
Mitch Grassi is an insanely great singer with incredible control. I found out about him this year and i now consider him as one of the best singers of this generation ! Great video !
I feel like when he goes into his falsetto, he kinda brings his vowels forward and pushes the sound more toward his nose, not nasally tho. He really works it.
The Pentatonix version of Take On Me from their Classics album is the perfect song to get a feel for Mitch's range. He sings both really low notes and his regular high notes. When I say they are low, I mean LOW. Like, I didn't even know he could sing so low.
i don't know if this is a subjective thing but i know when i (try to) sing in mixed voice, my vibrato is sometimes all over the place but his is so consistent, it's amazing
I watched this video: ruclips.net/video/70VN2-c9fCM/видео.html I don't know who she is, but I find the style/technique to be "shouty," though that's certainly common in pop music. However, I didn't hear the kind of "elasticity" in her voice (or as others say, the ability to "release") that I would expect of what one might call a virtuoso singer. Perhaps she has done this in other renditions, but my assessment of this one video is that there are some things she can work on if she wants to "take things to the next level." Of course, she might be doing exactly what is necessary/expected for that genre, and many might just stop there, which is understandable.
"He's on TV? Last time I watched Pentatonix, they weren't as big yet." Honey, they've won 3 Grammys so far, been on television countless times and they have millions of fans worldwide! So yeah, you must have watched them 7 years back?? Lmaao 😂😂
I love how he says he didn’t know they were this big and they have become multiple Grammy winners/ first A cappella group to hit crazy chart and album numbers on main stream music but he is suppose to be a music coach
Hi there. Tristan, I definitely enjoyed listening to you, very much. I am a 54 year old female, with chronic bronchitis-COPD. It is quite the bummer for me, as I am a singer. Well, I was. I am attempting to bring my voice back up to par, and am finding that my lungs think that I'm "dry", and begin making my nose run, and then my throat gets clogged, and I end up having to clear my throat. By then, well, my soprano voice, is down in 2nd tenor range in my chest. Yes, a big range, when my body will cooperate with me. I am not giving up, though. Singing has been part of me since I sang, "Let There Be Peace On Earth" at my mother's wedding to my step-dad, when I was 10. Can I hit Mitch's high notes? Yup! I am going to watch more of your video's. I like your mannerism's, and your quiet way of speaking. I love that you didn't use any "expletives" as well. (I can be a real egg-head sometimes. Okay, most of the time.) I don't know that I can afford you, but I just may just have to see what you think I may be able to do to get "past" the point when I get my difficulties. I shall have to see. New allergy meds may help this. Oh, God! I sure hope so. Love to sing in the church choir again. Thanx, Mindy
Praying for a reaction to Hayley Williams Live Vocals, she's evolved so much throughout the years, she sounds so much healthier right now, couldn't be more proud :')
I know you already reacted to Brendon Urie vocals but you should react to Brendon Urie high notes only too :) just an advice keep up the good work I luv ur vids
its so hard for me to think of mitch as a grammy award winner now just because of how long ive loved pentatonix. theyve really taken over the world at this point
Recently, in some of PTX's video's Scott's vowels have really changed (and it admittedly drives me crazy). I was thinking of you during their most recent take on Ed Sheeran's Perfect, and even in Havana. He's suddenly shifted to a short E sound on everything. Where "love" becomes levv, "darling" become deh-leng, "grass" becomes "gress". It's really bizarre since he used to have a nice rounded sound. ...esp for ballads and lower notes. Pop and high notes, sure, whatevs. But it sounded so funky in the recent tracks.
He says it like that to sound like Ed Sheeren. Since Ed has an accent when he sings some words sound different, Scott probably wanted the song to sound as much as the original does that’s why he says words differently in that songs.
Definitely not, Sasha. Ed has a UK accent. Which mean "grass" sounds like gr-aah-ss, open "aah". "Darling" sounds "dah-ling". "Dancing" sounds like "don-sing". Scott has been saying "gress", "deh-leng", and 'densing". In Camila Cabello's Havana, it's supposed to have a Cuban vibe. But instead of saying "huh-vah-nah", he said heh-veh-neh. It's not at all to sound like anyone else and is the same short 'e' vowel sound across all songs and singer accents.
Pentatonix is literally what made me fall in love with music- what those 5 amazing people can do with their voices is just so beautiful, their music is the closest thing to perfection I have ever heard ❤️ I’d love to see you react to one of their full videos- maybe bohemian rhapsody? 😁
You should DEFINITELY check out their version of "Attention" by Charlie Puth! It's got some very nice arrangement, and some real ear candy that I think a vocal coach would appreciate!!!
... I was binge watching your vids. . Then Mitch Grassi popped into one of them.. So I was like "oh I haven't checked out pentatonix in FOREVER". So I typed them into the RUclips searchbar.. I never even got to watch any of their stuff before I ended up back here again!
Mitch's range transitions have improved since those videos were made. He still gets brassy sounding above a D5 but has more control. Listen to him on the chorus of Take On Me (audio only). He goes from an A3 (which is also the bass note in their arrangment!) to an F#6. Bloody hell.
Please could you react to Pentatonix Aha! in Singapore? It is such an amazing video! A little bit of Mitch’s vocals from that performance was shown in this video but the whole performance is great.
I'm scrolling to see if anyone clarified the misconception. Seems like he isn't familiar with the way of singing. I hope he responds to yours or my comment
EVERY SINGLE VIDEO INCLUDING PTX IS THE PERFECT THING FOR YOU TO WATCH lmao but you should react to their recent ones its songs from an album they put out on Friday
Voice coach in training here! This is what I'm currently in undergrad for, and this type of video is a GREAT resource for me to use with my students who are going to (healthily) create a more popular sound. Thanks so much, I'm going to use all these videos! Keep it up!
He has been working counter tenor hard for a while. He sounds amazing. And has worked hard at brightening his sound. I saw them live and they opened for Kelly Clarkson. They were amazing and Kelly sat at the side of the stage and watched the whole set.
Mitch is a legend!! Can you please react to So Hyang she is a Koreana gospel singer and she is one of my favoirote singers and also she is one of the singers with the best technique out there!!!
I wish the vid from when kristen and him did whistle tones would have been in there lol. Mitch Grassi, Dimash, and Alex Newell are my favorite counter tenors.
Lol! Oh Tristan the end was beautiful... 10/10
What's the name of song of last one?...I'm kinda in love with his voice😍
Bradford Bad Boy It was Aha!
7:48 is hilarious! It’s so serious with Mitch singing the high note and then it just goes to Scott staring off in the distance wearing a blond wig.🤣🤣
Lmaoo
im so obsessed with him his voice and range and control is insane. avis range is pretty amazing too tbh. i think they said in an interview somewhere that he has the largest range of them all. he broke a speaker when they were singing live once cause his voice went so low haha. you should do a video checking him out as well as scott hoying
Samee
nahhhhh avi is the lowest singer but mitch has a vocal range of 4 octaves while avi's is around 3-3 1/2
@@drivingwren We know only the range they're showing us, not their true range. Maybe Avi had got the largest range when they say this.
Fitting to call it SpongeBob voice, he's a huge SpongeBob fan.
Brooke Siegel Loves Sponge Bob SOO much... Mitch has SB Tat on his arm! 😉😆😎
If he doesn't get cast as spongebob in something one of these days I'll be shocked.
Yup 😂
Now the Spongebob tattoo makes sense.
Your welcome 4 the 1000nd like
They come from his obsession with sponge bob the show
OP 1000 hj
He loves spongebob. He had a patrick phone cover once
I now also aspire to sing like a beautiful spongebob
MarinaDoulis You gotta be Mickey first......
Sameeee 😂
MarinaDoulis I cannot sing I can’t do Mickey or SpongeBob I can only sing alto
Jajajaj
Yes

I feel his ability to transition is so nice and I admire it so much so I find runs the best to listen for when it comes to him sometimes even more so than when he holds high notes. I could listen to compilations of his best vocals forever
basically when you move from note to note in one breath rather quickly like what Mitch does in the Star Wars performance or a short one at 2:29
Samee I love his runs and also his low register which I feel is underused and under-appreciated.
Yeah i noticed his voice has gotten so much higher since they got recognized. He's clearly been working on it hard....and its paying off in my opinion cuz thats what made him stand out originally and now hes basically known just because of the high notes
You know if theres a video where mitch tells us what he does to sing higher?
man every now and then I find them again and they've only gotten better
Mitch is a freaking queen and yes he is singing higher and he is killing it. 😍
can u please react to Avi’s Kaplan’s low notes. pls pls pls. tysm

Scott Hoying's riffs and runs!
sassierthangrassi YEEEEESSSSS
Yes!
Yassssss
Yes. This needs to happen. PLEASE.
Mitch being a guitar
Kevin being a trumpet
I would like to know how they do that
Emilie Wouters Mitch guitar- aow sounds. And a megaphone.
Kevin trumpet- rrrt sounds and a cupped hand
And don't forget Kirstin being "the girl", Scott being a synthesizer with those riffs and Avi being a Super Bassy Bonnie Jesus (SBBJ)
Now you have to react to Scott Hoying
Clara Lagerlund yes his riffs and runs too
yess love Pentatonix, I live for a good harmony 😂 React to Avi Kaplan (from ptx), he's such a good bass and I find it so fascinating how he can sing overtone
Mitch Grassi is an insanely great singer with incredible control. I found out about him this year and i now consider him as one of the best singers of this generation ! Great video !
He sure is 😍
hes tecnically a near flawless singer. He is far far better than the rest of the group in a technical sense
...and also sexier :-)
IKR Mitch Grassi + Ariana Grande= song that would slay the charts
Phillip H yes very much
I feel like when he goes into his falsetto, he kinda brings his vowels forward and pushes the sound more toward his nose, not nasally tho. He really works it.
The Gay Tay it’s kind of depressing hearing him sing in falsetto so much when he can go almost as high with his chest voice, like in Hallelujah
You’re both wrong. He doesn’t use falsetto. It’s head voice.
subscribe for literal no content in hallelujah, he uses a mask-placed head voice. Nothing to do with chest voice
thats what nasal means
@@Advanceyourenglish5 but... falsetto IS head voice...
I definitely suggest checking out a compilation of Scott's riffs and runs too, or range videos of the PTX members

My favorite is when guys hit high notes ♥️ it gets me every time
I agree! i'm a huge fan of his lower tone chest voice, but I do appreciate this too! To me, his voice is so pure!
He has awsome M2 but his high chest notes are just as good or even better.
I love your reaction and i hope you'll react to more PTX soon!

I definitely enjoyed listening to you, very much. I am a 54 year old female, with chronic bronchitis-COPD. It is quite the bummer for me, as I am a singer. Well, I was. Question, is it realistic to start singing at 20?
That's when I started :)
Oh, wow! thanks for the response!
How bout 26?
