Well, just because someone is good at singing doesn't mean they know all the technicalities. There's a big difference between someone who became famous after high school because they sang in choirs and some local competitions and joined a band that blew up, versus someone that went to college and studied vocal performance and learned the intricacies of how and why your voice does what it does, and how to manipulate that. Brendon knows his voice because it's his voice and he's been working with it forever, but that doesn't mean he's an expert in voice in general, so he was genuinely learning from someone educated in the subject.

Anxiety probably plays a part, but he's also on a video. As kids, you're often told to downplay your accomplishments to not seem braggy or arrogant. Think of how many people (anxiety ridden and NT) say "well it's kind of the wrong size/color or this is old or was cheap" when you compliment them on their clothing instead of just saying thank you. People in general have a tough time responding to compliments and it's almost socially expected for you to downplay it. Very rarely do you see people go "I like it too. Thank you!"

I also get a very heavy feeling of embarrassment when I’m complimented. I’m not even introverted, nor is it the impact of society. I couldnt afford a ticket my son & daughter got tickets from grandma at Xmas and my son gave one to me since his friends had tickets!. The Law of attraction? I thought Id never get to see you in concert. I WAS IN 3RD TO THE LAST ROW SO I REALLY RELATED TO YOU SAYING YOU COULDNT SEE THE CROWD I could barely see you really I wished I had an updated perscription that night! Your performance was amazing!Visually and Vocally.I was like I wish I could do this every week! I was especially grateful because a year ago I was in so much pain from slipped disks, siatica down b legs , ectI could barely walk w crutches shaking in pain for 2 years on the couch got up 2 to 3 times a day trying not to drink water so I would only get up twice shaking by the time I got there w crutches and now Ive miraculously healed so much over the last year I can walk . Uber not able to get up to building the I couldnt have made it that far.(I went to a movie and it took me over a half hour slowly struggling to get to the door I stopped to go 2 the bathroom & started crying in the stall for a few seconds it was frusterating the pain was that severe.So grateful to be able to walk around I thought Id never be able to walk around and enjoy something like that is such a miracle.I got a ticket and I could attend the concert!.IM GLAD THE TV SCREEN WAS UP THERE. DIDNT KNOW YOU COULD FLOAT A PIANO OVER THE CROWD. IT WAS A NEAT HOW YOU REACHED DOWN TO THE FANS BELOW YOU TOO. I loved it.
