People forget that United were in TWO cup finals. They had won 3 trophies with the Community Shield, League title, and FA Cup. Up to that point that was United's BEST output ever until 1998/99 season.
I'd forgotten how important Sharpe was to that season. I've seen a lot of United teams through the years but that 93/94 team was the most entertaining and my personal favourite. I'm sure I went to watch that Leeds away game at Old Trafford on the big screen but it's so long ago I can hardly remember.

Someone name another left back who could do what Dennis Irwin could do. Or a striker with a better all round game than Mark Hughes other than maybe Canton. Or an Englishman with a better left foot than Lee Sharpe. Or better wingers than Giggs and Kanchelskis were in this season.

Sharpe was excellent, I don't think he recovered well from injuries sustained soon after this and couldn't sustain this form
