Stratocaster build Episode 18, fret work.

Hi and welcome to episode 18 of my stratocaster build where I continue with the finish prep by sanding the neck and sorting out the frets.

I’ve slowly come around to liking the little natural “blemishes” in wood. It adds to the uniqueness of each project 🙂

I like that little brown streak in the head-stock.
It adds character.
If it was me, I wouldn't even think of painting it.

I definitely prefer an un-painted headstock. A natural transparent or tinted lacquered version looks best, in my opinion.

I really dislike stainless fret wire...but we all have our personal preferences. It's coming along nicely Pat

I think the strings and the retainer will cover up the headstock blemish. Looks good so far.
