I didn't see the horn issue at first, but the improvement is visible, so you were right once again. Keep up the good work - I look forward to seeing the finished project.
Funny how just a little bit off makes a big difference. I did some research on he Strat radius when I built my first one. I saw it with my own eyes on Fender shop drawing, it's 7/16". A lot of folks just go with the 1/2" cause it's so close. But I found and bought a 7/16" and it seems bid so just like with the horn a little off can through the eye. I saw you say super fancy finish a comment, now I really want to know.
Yeah I prefer a half inch radius round edge too, the more rounded that edge is the more comfy and smooth the Strat feels to cuddle and play. In my opinion the worst thing you can do to a Strat is not have it really rounded.
I had the same thing on a build I'm working on at the moment. I blame the fact some pickguards are slightly different. I just did a bit or reshaping and all is good.
Yep, plus I have also identified that a difference in the bridge meant I had to move it back slightly. All fixed now and ready for some super fancy finish ;)
It's easy to see if the pickguard and/or the template is a problem, simply compare to the Candy Red Japper '62 which will be exact! I'm still not convinced the template's nothing but junk though. The original gap at the front of the bridge to pickguard just didn't make sense because the distance between the back of the neck pocket and bridge looked fine. Whether you're satisfied with the end result or not I know you're a pretty particular builder and you should at least find the origin of the issue, you know you do. Cheers.
Patrick, what brand is that ratcheting screwdriver you use? I could do with a better one and you seem to like yours. I remember you complaining when you'd left it at your mums. EDIT: Nevermind, found the bugger, Bacho it is.
This is what we call "first world problems". Like having a 3 year old smart phone, or choosing from too many cuts of beef at the market. It's only an issue if you make it one.
Nice work as always! Looking forward to see the finished product.
Really enjoy watching your channel, I would love to see you build something unique, like your own shape of body/headstock.
I cracked up when I read the thumbnail.. 😂
Wow you are a perfectionist, most folk would never notice that horn area ❤
Brilliant 🤩 I suppose you could have given the Strat some Charvel Dinky horns!

Hi, in some strat plans the radius of the body roundover is marked as 1/2" or 12.7mm. You're doing a great job, cheers!
Cheers for that, I'm going to check my USA strat to see what that is. I'm almost happy with the horn area but think there is a bit more to do...

Looking good Pat but don't listen to the complainers...
Your building it for yourself so who cares... Haha
Clearly Pat is a little more particular than you... thankfully.
Well done!
Thanks buddy :)

🎸💙👍
Ta :)
Smashing build that sir, nothing wrong with the horn but what do I know?😊
Cheers, it's a lot betternow but probably needs a little more work.
Did you decide on a colour yet Pat?
Why remove material from the body? Cut a new scratch plate to fit the body. Much easier.

Sorry, yes, it's a Bacho and I like it a lot.

Are you left handed but playing right handed?
So the template was sh?tty
