My first ever vid, and for my best friend Ally! I couldn’t have been happier to make this for you for our secret santa my darling!
And what can I say about these two? After waiting to see them on screen together for ten years, they did not disappoint. I love them even MORE, if that's possible. I knew they would be separated at the end of this season and I would be upset about it, but watching their bond grow has made me SO happy. Amir and Dafne really are the perfect Will and Lyra. Roll on season three, however long we have to wait!

I already know the ending because I read the books two decades ago and I'm bawling my eyes out because it is just so tragic and sad. Lyra and Will, soulmates from two worlds apart. 😭

@@ilovemycutieplumpie Lyra and Will reach puberty after the war against God is won and they fall in love. But they can't remain together and have a future because they have to return to their own world, and Will won't have his subtle knife anymore, because it was too dangerous and it created the Spectres. The angels all close the windows between the worlds and Will and Lyra return to their own world. They make a vow of eternal love before parting ways -- each year on Midyear's Day, they will go to their own world's Oxford Garden and sit on the bench they sat together at the beginning of their friendship. This way, they will know they are at the very same place together, albeit in different universes.
The worst heartbreaking part is how much they loved each other and realising it was too late to at least have some time together. Lyra was crying and was seriously torn apart by this most tragic end of their relationship. They barely had had their first kiss and started to enjoy each other, when they had to part ways. Also, Lyra lost her ability to read the alethiometer. At first, they both considered staying together by having Lyra stay in Will's world. But the problem is that when one person stays about a decade in a parallel universe from their own, they get very ill and eventually die. The only person who survived this was Will's father John, and that was very close call. His magical powers allowed him to stay alive. But he was very weak and remained frail ever since. Will did not want Lyra to get ill by the time they both get ready to get married, and so, they had to part way really and truly, forever.
It was the first time Will himself cried openly. The duo had been through so many harships together, and they had everything to make it work. They were by no doubt soul mates, but soul mates from two parallel universes.
This love story is absolutely tragic and heartbreaking. It's a seriously one a kind tragic story of love.
