Three chimps can be briefly seen hooting, screaming and jumping up and down on top of the tower in response to the fuss in the gorilla enclosure. That's what's being referred to.
They should give Nene food in a separate area to prevent others from taking her food because of her age. They should give her some softer food at times like bananas.

I've been at a zoo when some chimps got into a huge brawl and omg it terrifying to watch from a safe place. Just absolutely terrifying. I don't scare easily but I was frozen because I was so scared and I wasn't even in danger. I've seen grown men fighting and I was concerned but not terrified. Seeing certain animals fighting is one of the scariest things in my book

He IS lazy-doesn't mean I don't appreciate the "few" moments we get of tenderness with the boys. I don't think he was cut out to be in the position he's in. I guess they all can't be like Shabani.

I recognize that both Haoko and Shabani are wonderful troop leaders. Of course, they grew up around their dad, Kibabu, a magnificent silverback. I agree - if Momotaro stood up for Genki, it would stop or slow down the hormonal Gentaro. We can agree to disagree on the point that Momotaro is lazy, but I think we agree on many other gorilla behaviors. Thanks for the conversation.
@@Charlotte-r Don't get me wrong, I love the Momo troop-but he really isn't painted in the best of light-maybe I just wish he would be more asserting...remember too, Shabani's troop received a new huge area to live several years ago, I read Shabani was quite the aggressor in the old exhibit, and it took time for him to change to a more responsible Silverback. I really think room would help Momo's troop-groundspace-wise. I wouldn't be happy there either. But, I am glad they are getting international help-every little bit helps. 😀
On the other hand, they are safe, they are fed regularly, and they have medical care. They don’t have to worry about being attacked by other animals or people. There are pluses and minuses to both the wild and captive way of life. 😊

How old is Nena? She's up there in years isn't she like almost 50.
Nene was born in Cameroon - her birth year is believed to be 1972.
