- EXPOSING UOFT STEM STUDENTS | Everything you need to know about UofT Math & Physics | University of Toronto (St. George) downtown campus
Hey guys! Today I interviewed my friends who are in U of T STEM (Stats & Physics & Astrophysics) to tell you guys everything you need to know about UofT STEM. There are a lot of misconceptions about STEM at UofT and I hope this video was able to clear up some of those misconceptions!
HUGE Shout-out to Acadium for sponsoring this video:

Raise your hand if you are in/going to be in UofT STEM! (✋)
The shocking tuition revelation then a quick transition to a sponsored ad was brilliant gotta need that money. Btw love Ray and Parker's Podcast.
These are the coolest math and physics majors.
thank u for the video :)) im entering in september for physics and math and hoping to study astrophysics
Thank you. It was amazing. 💙💙. Please do Eng Sci interview 🙏
Can you do an interview with engineering students?
👀
As an engineering Master's student at UofT, I'm down for an interview
Yes.. it's good if it's aerospace engineering^^
I'd even be down as an elec graduate
@@RichardHan Engineering science one if possible
Hi Richard, thanks for your series of videos. I enjoy every of your videos. You must have a supreme time management skill. You manage to make these videos amid the crazy UofT workload.
Also a math and physical sciences student and I can relate to all that these guys are saying 💀
Any tips for incoming Math and Physical sciences students? I just got admitted for this course and wanted a student's perspective
@@aadinarang ayooo I also got admitted to physicmath !!! You mind drop your ig account? I was trying to build a community and find people who are going into my program.
@@aadinarang Also the advices for our program is to find a study group and be social , joining clubs
Could you do an interview with an Aerospace EngSci student?
Or Robotics Engineering Engsci
Absolutely... this is what I want to study
Don't do aero unless you have US citizenship.
Thank you so much for this video! Math and Physics at UofT is my goal!
I don't know how I came across this but I'm glad I did. Great to see that not much has changed even years after I graduated from the math/physics program.
Also, I'm still suffering from PTSD over how bad the chairs were in the MP lecture halls.
Yess i am and I was scared what it's gonna be like so thanks for this video 😊✋✋
I subscribed their podcast channel, and meet them here surprisedly....
I'm a chemistry specialist and I had linear algebra
Applied for CS got an alternative offer for Mathematical and physical sciences, I think It’s a pass.
damn same here( got alternated to mathphy
You can get into cs in the second year really easily if you do well in the first year cs course. It’s competitive but it isn’t that hard.
First year no body is actually in the program. There are csc courses that are available to all arts and science students. There are usually a lot of spaces. If you just do well in those you can get into csc programs in the second year.
@@Karlleagueoflegends I’ve emailed the faculty and their reply was saying that they don’t recommend this route to anyone. Tbh I don’t want to do the first year then get stuck in non cs programs, that would drive me crazy.
@@ohama8824 I see
lmao i'm in first yr rn and 137 is the bane of my existence
Men really didn't say MAT157 was the hardest course.
hey bro quick question how much did you pay every year in rotman commerce and what would be the total fees after 4 years/bachelor
great video as always! anw, can you do one with psych student??
^^
You need to talk to the math specialsts its a whole other world from the physics department. Just interview anyone who took MAT157 lol
Also who had Marco as their mat240 teacher lol
I am planing to take it this fall , actually I am confused between 137 and 157 , could you please help me . Ps. I have taken AP calculus Bc
@@aryanjain8494 I don’t think AP calculus BC is going to prepare u enough. You need to get familiar with proofs by reading a intro to proof textbook in the summer. You won’t need to if you just want to do 137. 137 is way less work than 157( in my opinion 70% more less work). I think u of t also provides a free summer math camp for upcoming first year student which I think will help you a lot. Check the u of t website. Just be aware that the gap between 157 and ap calculus is very big.
@@aryanjain8494 also what I meant by reading an intro to proof book is that you need to become very familiar with the four types of proof technics before going to 157. Otherwise it’s not going to do much
That helps , thank you
I really like physics and would probably get a masters later on. I got into the faulty of arts and science and engineering. Do you think that I should go for math&physics or eng?
I think you can try to contact the faculty for more informations. If you want to do further theory type of studies the math and physics courses available at art and science are really really good. They will 100% prepare you for any of the master study in physics or mathematics. I don’t know too much about engineering tho but I think they are focusing more on applications. While the one at art and science are focused more on proved. Check the math program page, there is a specialist called math and physics specialist. That one is an open enrollment but it’s really hard. That will prepare you really well for your graduate school studies for physics.
Eng is a lot of work but extremely structured and you'll be swimming in a huge pool of students. Physics is a lot smaller and you will have to keep up by yourself a bit more. Be sure you actually want to do physics first though.
Can I get Parker's social media accounts or id
Oh my god Parker is so fine. Sorry. 😩
I was admitted to UTSC MIB which is co-op. Could you please tell me if this degree is worth it and how much time would I have for my hobbies while being part of the program?
Hi Richard is that hard even in social science department
Please let me know
omg
Parker is soo hot and handsome ❤
