The Indian street food sold in Southall take-away joints isn't as good as it used to be in the previous century ie the 70's 80's and 90's; back then it was Indian immigrants who owned those restaurants and take-aways and so they knew how to cook authentic Indian food, for example the Samoseh had lots of spices and chillies; these days there's less spices and no chillies in Samoseh, I enquired why, to which the restaurant owner told me that their customers complain about the Samoseh being too spicy; the customers who complain are 4th generation of Indians who were born in England, their tastes have been ruined by the crap English food they're used to. Instead of putting chilli sauce on their food they put mayonnaise or ketchup 🤮🤮🤮
@@brothersman524 I agree with you there. Plus Southall used to be very good for Indian restaurants and take-aways while they were owned by Sikhs and Hindus, but they have retired, and their adult children have become educated thus in professional careers, which is why hardly any Indian restaurants are owned by Indians, nearly all are owned by Pakistanis.
@@PSYCHIC_PSYCHO Well I am Pakistani but born and bred in the UK - however I get what you are saying. The standards of Asian food was very good back then and even I know this but sadly it has deteriorated
I drove through there in the 1960 with John Thornton I'm his MGB on the way back from fishing. He lived in Iselworth. It was full of Seeks and there wasxa sign up on the Cinema stating" Whites Welcome. I hear they bought and sold property by giving receipts and thus avoided Stamp Duty. Alan Nottage had a white man come in one day with a bundle of old document he bought from a bloke in a Pub thinking he had bought land at Boggin Hill!
Just one question.. why only in Asian majority places , the shops are extended to the footpath just like in india.. in east ham, the brooms are handing and buckets, mugs etc are all on the footpath...
I totally agree with you, when I used to live in that sewer called Southall it used to infuriate me, I moved out of that sewer back in 1996, I live in Acton which is more civilised
What I miss the most is the Film and Music shops which were the real soul.
I love Southall and to me it is the mini India.
Very good video, this is always a good area to shop in and go for a meal. Much better than how it was 50 years ago!
Been to Southall many times - the street food there is awesome
@Making Memories Collecting Moments Love Indian and Pakistani food - I eat it daily (almost)

They were expelled and displaced from that place. They are the future for the United Kingdom, according to what they say.
