@@EngineeredToDesign my wifes not a fan of heights so I wasn't able to lift the tent as high as you. Flat deck with hinge similar to a standard soft floor. Put in a false plywood floor and mounted all electrical and the fridge inside. Just got some very basic drawers to build and it should be good to go.

Hi great video, i have several old Holdens and Fords but i am painting a 1979 Land cruiser FJ 45 with a Turbo diesel engine and 5 speed box i was going to build a camper but bloke at work sold me a camper trailer factory made for $3500 so went that way keep up the great videos.

Awesome build very well done. I just got a brand new Tradies Trailer so I am already $4400 into it haha lol plus the battery, solar panels etc. No RTT at this stage as have a 10 person tent which will be used if we have friends come camping with us etc but I am really looking forward to building out our family camper trailer

I am from Melbourne Vic and considering doing the same to a simmilar 6x4 boxed trailer and it would be great to know from your experience if you had to register it and what you had to do in order to get it done. Does it ever feel like the trailers going to tip when it's not hooked up to the towball? Looking at doing something similar, love the comfort of the roof top tent not the fuel burn it causes though!
Definitely agree mate would love to have something more slimline.. nah it’s good with the stabiliser legs on.. could always have 4, two on the back and two on the front?

@@budget4x4life agh yes that makes sense, you could get a 6x4 and build a box on top yourself? Keep the batteries and most weight down low to help centre of gravity. Put electric hubs on it..

Iv just finished watching all the videos, some of it was a struggle with poor audio. Great idea with the trailer I just think it’s just poorly executed. Bit more planing and bit more time on getting the finish better. All the best for the future

Only thing i would as is an offroad hitch so you can take it on some more difficult tracks like up the cape and vic high country.

Yes mine has to be registered but I bought it registered as it was a “hopper trailer” and not a standard 6x4 it only works out around $65 a year
I know this is a stupid question but can an Anderson plug be installed in the 99 Holden vt commodore sedan or are they only recommend for 4WD?
It definitely can just make sure you use suitable wiring for your needs and an isolator at the battery depending on what your doing..
How did you go with the end weights? Does she exceed the 750kg rating or ended up under?

That is awesome mate! It took me a few weeks as a couple here on the market were extremely rusty or over priced...
They r around mate, I found one and missed it then found another and got it in a week. I got a 6x4 HD box trailer off gumtree for $600
