i remember seeing the arch from a jet window seat back in 1989, flew from atlanta georgia to st. louis airport. i knew i was in missouri when i seen that arch.i wanted to go ride up it but fort leonardwood had another plan for me ,lol basic training.nice to see it again on youtube videos !
I have fond memories visiting the Arch when I was a little kid. It was about 1980. The elevators left an impression on me. . I visited my mothers family from Arizona... Good times!
A bedroom in one of my rental properties has a perfect view of the Arch from 7.76 miles away. If anyone wants to know, as of April 2021, rides to the top are still closed, but the grounds and lobby are open. Call ahead to see if anything has changed.
@@josephdockemeyer6782 -- If I could afford a piece like that, that'd be out of this world. I'd say in another 10 years, the tree across the street in the neighbors yard will block it.
@@atomstarfireproductions8695 I think it's like a radio tower elevator, so it probably works like 1 of those. There are some videos of radio tower elevators.

Awesome! These are very unique elevators.
Thx for sharing. Probably impossible to not get a glare.
I’ll never be able to go up it so it’s nice to see what it’s like. Many thanks!

Thanks for the update!
I initially read this comment as "a bedroom in one of my rentals in the gateway arch"...
@@josephdockemeyer6782 I did too LOL

4:41 I wonder what's in the yellow flammable storage safety box; conveniently next to fire extinguishers?
hmmm, who knows xD
I've always wondered how people accessed inside the arch and how the stairs and evelators be
Well now you do!!
I can't believe that you rode the elevators at the St. Louis arch!
I was there in 2015 it was totally amazing I would like to go again since they have remodeled and retooled
It's definitely worth a visit!
6:41 Imagine if someone actually got to see the machine room for these things
That would be super cool.
Really nice view! I want to visit here one day!
I've never been to the gateway arch. I hope I can go there someday.
It's totally worth it!
I've been here before. First time I have been here was in 1977.
The year I was born! :)
Do you know who made the elevator you see when you are going up to the top?
I don't
does a video exist of that elevator you pointed out on the way up (not the one you're in, the other one that goes sideways)?
Doubtful
Tram car 8?
Great Fun!
Wait how many trams are there Jason
There's one on each side.
This is what it looks like? I can’t remember any of this other than the entrance to the thing
Have you seen the new entrance, or do you remember the entrances by the base of the Arch?
@@stlelevators I remember the staircase with the elevators but not the inside of the system
What happens if the elevators get stuck?
I’m not sure.
I have been looking forward to this video from when you first told me about it and it is an awesome furnicular!
I'm planning to go there some day, when covid ends.
You should!
@@stlelevators I am planning to do the trip Chicago - St. Louis
I want to see that full size elevator but the government might want to keep it a secret
oh, I want to see it too!
I think it is for maintenance
@@any123-og they might use it to change the light on the top of the arch
Yo I'm going there for summer vacation and it's going to be fun
Awesome! Have fun!
Them are Montgomery, right?
Yep
I wonder what the weight limit is
I’m not sure
I rode these back in late 2012
4:03 Slowing down...
Wow 😮
is an automactic train
It's like a train, but way different.
Look No C-3PO guy here
My uncle has been here

❤️🤙🏽
This wasn't a very good video, the other videos I seen of people riding up to the top of the arch was alot better.
It always depends whose behind the camera! Some have it, some don't
Man I want to see a video of that other elevator so bad.
Yeah I want to see it too!
I’m also curious how that one works
