  • Mia says her mother put her through 17 years of hell. She says her mother, Gwennie, has tortured her for years. Gwennie says she made a lot of mistakes but Mia says her mother barely was around to even call herself a mom. Can Karamo help this mother and daughter star anew for the sake of their family and the next generation?

The husband needs to understand THAT IT IS NOT HIS PLACE TO FORCE THIS UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP ON HIS TRAUMATIZED WIFE! He did not have the experiences she had. He did not suffer her traumas. He’s forcing this on her to pacify HIS NEED! This is painful for her! What doesn’t he understand? Sometimes it’s best to love family from a distance. This constant pressure on her is causing her to be in fight or flight mode and is going to have a HUGE IMPACT on her as a mother and a wife! He needs to create boundaries in her life and be a safe space for her. She needs therapy. I really think he’s being selfish.

I strongly suspect this mother is a narcissist in its true sense. She wanted empathy (kidney issue), praised herself for her alleged progress when interactions with Mia, deflected when called out and when that didn’t work she tried to sound reasonable to gain Karamo’s respect. All an act. Her body language said it: eye rolling, having most of her body turned away from her daughter and just being cold and dismissive when she was crying talking about being abandoned. I can easily imagine her being abusive towards her children. There’s something very intimidating and manipulating about her.

I grew up with a narcissist as a mother and she'd speak in that same tone while I'm in a highly emotional state so that it makes you look crazy and angry for "no reason". Just imagine a little 7 year old girl being abandoned by her “mom” so her “mom” can chase a ridiculous pipe dream that will never come to fruition, and the little girl is left alone outside sitting on the bench available for anyone with bad intentions. That’s horrifying, scary and that breeds a certain kind of insecurity that takes forever to heal in adulthood. Bad parents really need to understand how much they impact their children with their neglectful and selfish choices. And now the mother really expects her daughter to give her an ORGAN, when she couldn’t even give her daughter safety or security. Hell NO.

it's been almost 5 years since i went no contact with my birth mother. i'm a survivor of narcissistic and physical abuse. my feelings were never expressed, because they never mattered in my household. eventually, children who grow up and become survivors of narcissistic abuse get so tired of pandering to their parent's narratives. they eventually see the real truths in the world, and the way adults are supposed to act. over time, the rhetoric that the child received from their parent is gradually dissolved as a lie. my heart constantly goes out to people like me with similar stories-- especially those whose souls scream inside, "maybe she'll love me if i...". i stopped trying to fill that hole 5 years ago. eventually, you love yourself more and it's worth the cut when the situation is bad enough. realizing that her severe narcissistic personality disorder made her an unfit mother, and that it wasn't my fault, helped me a lot in my healing journey.

Anybody else clock Karamo checking the husband? I’m sure his intentions were good, but how can you come into the conversation not focusing on your wife when she’s hurting so badly? Don’t forget to be a husband while being a father. And talm bout he love both his mother-in-law and his wife, putting them on the same level. I’m glad Karamo checked him and told the wife/daughter that at least he (Karamo) was there for her right after her husband said that mess.

@zoespeaks7404, in my opinion the husband made profound points, for the wives healing. The husband is concerned about his wife, he is encouraging her to choose peace, so that she won't have any regrets when the mother check out on earth. It his opinion and I agree with him.
Unfortunately some people don't have a forgiving hearts, they hold on to whatever happened to them. And some people are wired to forgive no matter how bad you did them. I don't the daughter, but its seems she is not even close to forgiveness.
I had a friend who went through childhood trauma, and profusely blamed her mother for it. Her mother at some stage, improved her life, took to the daughter to prestigious private schools, tertiary education. She could tolerate her mother then, the minute's she achieved academically and could stand on her own, she remembered everything and started the hate all over again.
Years later the mother died, and she went through the worse depression. Now she talks to her mother through prayer and regrets everything.
Her two other siblings who went through the same with their mother, chose peace and embrace her for the struggles and appreciated that she took care of them when she could. Have no mental break down. They are fine.
Unfortunately our hearts are wired differently.

I confronted my mom about this when I was 18 n she completed denied it. I saw nothing but red.

I understand wanting reconciliation from past abuse or neglect from parents BUT that doesn’t mean you need to have a relationship with them. Something’s are just not worth mending a relationship. Sometimes you have to let those people go to heal yourself. I understand you only get 1 mother but some things are irreversible in consequences. It’s not fair to force a child to forgive you when you have traumatized them for years

7 years old and abandoned living in California, how cruel to do a child like that, she could have been kidnapped and then to deny and gaslight a 7 year old when she complained and told the mother they were having her wait outside on a bench, the mother told her those ppl didn’t do that, WOW so basically she was calling her 7 year old a liar, I feel in my heart that the daughter is telling the truth, the mother crushed her spirit by not putting value on her, by leaving her on stoops, stairs and benches and allowing her child to be mistreated- where’s the VALUE- the mother added NONE and that’s why you have an adult daughter who is bleeding because of the mistreatment from her mother

You can be on excellent terms with your mother and still not offer your kidney. That young woman has a child of her own. Kidney disease can run in families. What happens if she gives you hers and years from now a genetic problem impacts the only one she has left? Furthermore, uncontrolled high blood pressure and/or diabetes can negatively impact your kidneys. Has mom been eating right, following the medical care plan? There are even individuals who claim they reversed their kidney disease with holistic interventions. Needing a kidney should not be the motivation to reconcile with your child. There are other things you can do to help yourself regarding your kidneys.

Before even watching this video, I looked at the comments to see what I was getting myself into, and I see comments about the Mom only caring about getting a kidney transplant. That’s why she wants a relationship with her daughter after mistreating her daughter. I also see comments about the Dad trying to force this relationship and I can relate to this entire situation so much because I have a stepmom who is a narcissist. My father has been married to her for 9 to 10 years, and in that entire span, she has done things like lied on my name multiple times, try to sabotage relationships between me and my siblings and my dad, threatened to call the police on my biological mom when she came to pick one of my siblings up after asking my dad first before coming, gossip to her friends about my mom, and the information came back to us, and I had proof of all of these things that she lied about and still I have never received a single apology. I remember a time where I came to an event that she was throwing for one of my siblings, and she insulted me at the event only 30 minutes of me arriving, and then, when her friends came around, she was smiling in my face and asking me to help her with stuff, and I blatantly told her no. You’re not gonna use me when you need me but disrespect me when no one else is around. unfortunately my father enables her bad behavior, and I remember one time I confronted him about things that she was saying about my biological mom and sibling and he basically called me a liar. He texted me 24 hours later and apologized and said that I was right and everything that I said she said was true. I also found out recently that she possibly put black magic on me, my biological mom and sibling because a relative had a dream that she did. I am currently on a fast right now, and have been praying every day because I don’t play with demon spirits, I only talk to the Holy Spirit🙏🏽. I have not bothered her for months, after she lied on me three times in a row, which one of the lies almost put my job in jeopardy. I changed my number, and she doesn’t know where I live or work or anything about me. She is upset because I completely cut her out of my life because she is so toxic, and because I will no longer speak to her is why she put the black magic on me. Luckily, my relative told me that the curse was broken, because God refused to allow it to prosper🙏🏽. Sometimes you have to stay away from someone even if it’s family if they are bad for your mental and physical health. I relate to this story so much it’s crazy. I’m hoping that the daughter is able to find some healing, and I’m hoping the Mom is able to get into some type of therapy, and I think Dad should join her as well because he’s trying to force this situation and I’m seeing in the comments. People are saying that it’s more toxic for them to be around each other than for them not to. He has to accept that it is not working and you cannot force two people that just don’t mesh well to have a relationship no matter if its family 🆗🙏🏽.

That has nothing to do with us, and everything to do with herself. Step parents who keep their step kids away from their biological parents should get their parent card revoked! No real step parent that cares, does that!🆗🎯 She was most likely jealous of y’all relationship my step mom has also made lies on me to keep a distance between me and my dad or have us on conflict because people like that thrive off of negativity!!
