@@coldhearts5699 You clearly haven't been watching that long or know anything about boxing if you think its "hugging" for one its called a CLINCH and a CLINCH if used right and well can WIN FIGHTS. If you are stronger than your opponent you clinch them, press them with your bodyweight and strength it gets them tired and when they are tired it makes a TKO/KO easier. You fend off power strikers like salt papi, he doesn't have any strike sets just power shots. So engaging then using the clinch to disengage is a great stratagem to win fight. Are you saying the GOAT Ali is a first time boxer and hugger? Because he is seen as the greatest of all time in boxing and he was notorious for engaging in the clinch, same as Wladimir Clinchko.
Salt Papi had trouble adjusting his game plan to AT’s style, he was too focused on landing that left hand. You could see Salt Papis confidence decreasing as the fight went on it was sad to watch 🤣 BIG UP AT on the win ✅
More like that's how he always fights lol Salt papi went off script and tried to out muscle Anthony in the inside and left a lot of openings and paid the price for it (fought a stup*d fight)
@Hyper Archieve it's called strategy, is it a boring way to fight? Yeah, but it's how you win. Mayweather did the same thing when he fought Pacquiao. It's the boxers job to know how to navigate their opponent.
Salt did great regardless of the outcome. He just got smothered and never really fought someone so tough. This was a great wake up call to him so he can hopefully get in gear and step up his game to the next level. I like the fight only being 3 rounds cause papi was struggling with his cardio. If it went longer he could of gotten embarrassed. Great fight all around Anthony Taylor did what he was expected to do. Salt stayed calm and cool. He gave us an entertaining fight and that’s what I love to see
Papi won the first round, but he got angry in the second when his shots weren't shaking Taylor. He Should've remained patient, continued countering, and conserved energy. His corner shouldn't have pressured him to push in the third either.
He didnt do enough in the first round thats why he step on the gas cause there’s only 3 rounds not more no time to be patient but it’s all about money right too bad

People are over hyping him as a high iq fighter when he isnt. He looks smart when he counters with the straight and leads with the r hook. But that isnt high iq. ATs gameplan was high iq boxing. Salts defense and footwork is only a step back left straight nothing else. People are overhyping this dude to be something hes not.
i been seeing that since the Josh Bruckner fight, he and austin mcbroom should fight since its a bit similar style of south paw, except austin can switch stances
There's no follow up, I mean what do you follow it up if the opponent's instinct is to duck everytime Papi throw a hook or left straight. Better positioning and shot selection is the answer. He can throw an upper all day, it's there for him to take.
I picked AT to win this one. This guy I think is a real test for any of these up and coming influencers. He's a bit of a gatekeeper in my opinion, like one of those journeymen that will see what you are made of and can upset the odds. He's tough, fights awkwardly and with a frantic, pressuring pace. You can see here it frustrated papi, also the fact AT was fighting at a pace for 3 rounds, while papi was not.
Yea but also 3 rounds isn’t enough to really see who’s the better fighter and to see who can pull away and see the skill gap. More like getting warmed up
@@walkermusicandother3374 They both agreed to 3 rounds. At this level, they really should be going only 3 to 5 rounds. 3 rounds does show that Salt Papi could not adjust or stick to a plan. He wasn't ready to let his hands go and fight when he had to, or to have a pace for 3 rounds. Meanwhile AT had a plan, stuck to it and fought at a pace appropriate for 3 rounds. We definitely saw the better fighter that night, since one stuck to his plan, one didn't and began to show signs of frustration.
Here's the thing, AT just had much better defense than we expected. Half of the 2nd round and the whole 3rd round. Salt kept throwing the same stuff, left cross left hook that somewhat left uppercut, and everytime AT would duck and slip to dodge and hit salt back with something anything. If not that AT clinches and he used the clinch to land as much as possible cause those punches still count and basically he was a great number 2, salt papi was the aggressor but he failed in that regard.
I have no idea why Salt’s corner did not tell him to use his uppercut. Anthony got some clean shots, that straight right was money but he kept ducking his head down over and over. If Salt just adjusted a little and went for that uppercut it might’ve been lights out. Congrats to Anthony tho 🙏🏾
That’s what I’m saying. If he had more then three rounds he would’ve been able to make that adjustment but he wanted three rounds because he cares more about money then a win
@@RickyRegal. Finally! At least some people here get it. I'm so glad you guys have mentioned the uppercut. It was sorta reminiscent of the way Saunders kept ducking and lowering his head against Canelo. With an adjustment, in a longer fight, we could've seen a very similar result.
Why can’t salt papi read taylor?! All he does is jab lunging over right hand or lunge over right hand. A well timed uppercut is all that he needed to do
Most influencers would rather avoid Taylor, so I agree that Papi deserves his respect for being in there. He was pretty competitive for the first round and maybe early in the second, but AT’s experience and game plan was perfect. I reckon he gives all the influencers trouble including guys like Slim and even Gib. With this win, nobody can really deny he’s a serious fighter in the scene.
@rompt3266 Yeah, I got pretty annoyed people were spreading this rumour about Papi having an extensive amateur career. We can see from the Ham fight and his street fights that he’s really improved over time. Slim really wouldn’t stand a chance given his performance against Zanetti.
Papi did really solid the 1st round and then first minute of 2nd round, he got too aggressive though idk if it was the 3 rounds or if he got too confident and didn’t stick to the plan.
Regardless of the result I’m rocking with Salt Papi. This is Salt Papi 4th fight and the jump from Josh Brueckner to Anthony Taylor is a big big jump. Win, lose or draw I’m with him. People will switch up on him but I won’t. Nobody wanted to fight him so he had to fight a fighter. When he gets his eye laser surgery it’s OVER for everyone. this is why i dont really like boxing . u can hug or turn ur back to avoid things. why not just put these guy in the bigger sparring MMA gloves and fight MMA
Salt papi was not phased, taylor was threatened throwing wild punches. Papi is a effective puncher he can take hits he dealt a lot of damage to taylor.
Alot of people get mad for AT for clinching all the time even though it was part of his plan, hit and then clinch so that he won't get countered by papis left punch, the only way for papi to counter tht is to use a left uppercut (which he did in the last 1-2 mins but it wasn't enough)
Anyways Congrats to Anothony!! I love salt papi but AT Definitely Deserves this Win..i can tell it meant alot to him
so frustrating to watch an experienced fighter like AT use this tactic punch duck and clinch against an influencer boxer....ig a wins a win...
He needed those clinches, otherwise he woudlve be hurt a lot of times

@@coldhearts5699 You clearly haven't been watching that long or know anything about boxing if you think its "hugging" for one its called a CLINCH and a CLINCH if used right and well can WIN FIGHTS. If you are stronger than your opponent you clinch them, press them with your bodyweight and strength it gets them tired and when they are tired it makes
a TKO/KO easier. You fend off power strikers like salt papi, he doesn't have any strike sets just power shots. So engaging then using the clinch to disengage is a great stratagem to win fight. AT had that Mma style
Now i know always hug your opponent makes you win the game . Nice
Anthony was smart, he went for the points, then the hold. He played the long game and won fairly.
exactly
More like that's how he always fights lol Salt papi went off script and tried to out muscle Anthony in the inside and left a lot of openings and paid the price for it (fought a stup*d fight)
That's his style
Holding is not fair. You can't say someone won fairly when they relied on a clinch.
He gave us an entertaining fight and that’s what I love to see
he did amazing as a tiktoker with 3 fights, if salt papi had more experience, he'd beat taylor imo
Salt still one of the best influencer boxers out there salt vs Kenny, Jarvis, gib, or even deji would be a great fight
Great fight! Congrats Anthony

Taylor was smart in making himself smaller by ducking before going to a clinch, Papi literally couldn't do anything every time Taylor swarmed him.
He could of backed up since he was doing it the whole fight and just punch him while he was down there
Smart fighting from Anthony!!

Papi won the first round, but he got angry in the second when his shots weren't shaking Taylor. He Should've remained patient, continued countering, and conserved energy. His corner shouldn't have pressured him to push in the third either.

Idk if its a reaction issue but Salt Papi needs to develop some defence.
It’s a footwork issue.. too slow on his feet - it’s cuz he’s got so much extra weight
Salt only needed slips in this fight , that straight from A.T was all night , I don’t know why papi wasn’t doing one of his signatures in this fight , a slip to a straight or uppercut.

Anthony Taylor's form really counters Salt Papi's boxing style.
The problem with salt is that he kept on relying on his straight left and left hook and wasn’t following up, I honestly just think he becoming too reliant on his power
I knew that at the least Anthony would be Salts most durable opponent so it wasn’t just gon be a breeze
Yeah we saw his biggest flaw is his lack of experience. When his original plan wasn’t working he was just getting frustrated and that’s why he lost
Thumbs down for the ads we couldn't skip😂😂
@@walkermusicandother3374Yes it does. Salt got destroyed in the 3rd all round.

Salt has the talent.
Salt Papi relied for his power but Tailor is a little quick and smart to avoid it. Rematch!👏💪

Step off the line when Anthony bull rushed and throw the uppercut. The problem is... I don't think Salt knows how or when to throw an uppercut.
Maybe it’s cause it leaves him open to a counter and hes not all that great with uppercuts
An experience team and fighter would’ve caught it since the first round. He was doing it every time. One unexpected uppercut and lights out
I was so happy for Ant, a lot of people did indeed discredit him for this fight.

Finally that boring overrated clout-chasing hype-train got derailed!
Of course he won. Salt gimmicks can only get you so far. Plus all that hugging style sheeeeeeeesh! 😆

They need more rounds. Taylor was wasting a lot of energy but didn’t have to pay for it in later rounds
Honestly the worst part about RUclips boxing
Wouldn't of mattered Papi was as if not more drained than Taylor from being clinched, also he doesn't have great cardio to begin with.
