I share his passion for collecting pressed steel toys. But I totally 100% disagree with him on not restoring them. Some of them are far gone to just leave as is. I just restored a 1940’s Structo Diamond T, an actual barn find with heavy rust
Totally agree, leave them in original condition. Do not paint them, just store them in a clean dry environment and dust them off once in a while. Also you can check out the latest addition to my collection if you like, a 1954 Tonka tow truck, thanks
My brothers and I are kids from the 70s. We received many Tonkas. My favorite trucks are the tanker and the dump truck with the mortar mixer that I received as Christmas gifts. I still have many of my childhood Tonkas. There is a wheel barrow that came with the dump truck and mixer. Do you have the wheel barrow for your set? You have some good looking trucks.
I think it's a personal choice, it's your truck do what you want. Personally I think if a truck has already been poorly repainted and you want to try to restore it, go ahead, but if it has it's original paint even if faded or rusted, I would leave it alone.

Could you post some pictures of your restoration

Hey Georgia HEX, been watchin your channel for a couple years, good stuff man.
Thanks for checking out my horrible videos
2:43 someone in my family has this one, how much would it be in a condition that’s a little more rougher than the one in the vid?
Depends on how rough it is, these can reach 150-250 in great condition
Ford had square body trucks in 1957 with 2 headlights
Does tonka still make these trucks
nope
If they are badly rusted they get dismantled and restored
If they are I really bad condition is it still not better to restore them
Depends. On super rare 1 year only trucks, the original paint is the proof

Ken and Barbie look so young there!
Love these old trucks, you can check out the latest addition to my collection if you like, thanks.
You should send all your toys and diecast to heaven like I did so they can last forever and not get destroyed all you need is a spell-caster
