Aerial View of Sackets Harbor, NY

We start our video approaching Horse island. The British landed here on May 29, 1813 to assemble for their main attack on Sackets Harbor which was the principal ship building facility and main base for the American naval squadron on the LaKE Ontario at that time. Note the lighthouse hidden in the trees on the left on Horse Island. We then follow the same route the British took attacking Sackets Harbor north of the base. As we approach the town we spot the bike path in the middle of the battlefield. We then proceed over the town, Harbor and end up over the historic Madison Barracks.

I spent wonderful summers with my grandma in Sackets in the 70’s. I can see our old house where my dad was raised from 1947.Thank you so much!
