- It was a little early for guitarist Jimmy James, and he told his band mates he was feeling cranky. But having just come off a pair of road trip Northwest tours, it was all in the family with Delvon Lamarr and drummer David McGraw (co-founder with James of the hot Seattle soul group The True Loves) pushing their friend's buttons until everyone was laughing.

"Let's wear flat caps, and suits with t shirts underneath and not tell jimmy"
"Lol okay"
Cool. In the original 1950s sense.

I’d like to have the shirt with that happy sausage. very classy.
@@wolfgangfricke8555 Looked to me like Sausage Rick!!!! (pickle rick)
Don't let the mellow fool ya. What a a humble tight-hot group. Notice the Delta Blues polyrhythm Jimmy adds at 4:15. Ya gotta listen close or the subtlety will ease right on past ya. Check the vintage drum kit? And that DeArmond Gold Foil at the neck of the '60s ...1960s! ...what? Silvertone?...sold at Sears. These guys could blow the roof off playin some Hendrix material.

e douglas pratt they do play hendrix stuff... at least jimmy james quotes hendrix quite a bit when playing life. even uses tongue and teeth then. :)) saw them at the jazz open in stuttgart which was big fun.
only 3 guys, only 3 instruments but infinite pleasure.
great work guys
Groove Music of the highest order.
Crack one - Spark one - Relax and groove to the groove.
As always, well done, gentlemen.
i grew up on jimmy smith, jimmy mc griff, jck duff, groove holmes, lonnie liston , this was groundbreaking then & it's groundbreaking now, i love organ trios.
Loving this band...
They are great right?!
It is mind boggling to me how he could play in that Ray Manzerrick fashion , keeping up the bass line along with the lead and solo. Awesome stuff
You got it backwards, friend- Manzarek was approximating what these and the likes of Jimmy Smith and others were doing....
Excellent groove. Who How Why a dislike gets on a vid like this? I can consider being neutral on it, but negative? just not possible!
haha .. know what you mean ..
most likely meant to press like and their finger slipped

There's no way he's playing bass with the organ. It sounds exactly like a real one. Crazy
Hammond sixties vibe: beautifull..solid rhythm!
Mello(w)nious Thonk!
this is so cool !
We agree!
Simply MAGIC
Solid left hand bass line while soloing well with the other. I never really realized what a lousy organist I was until this... Great stuff from the whole group!!
Piedmont. Can you tell me if he's doing the bass line with his left hand or with the foot pedals? It's seems for me that he's using his left hand, but then, why is he using the pedals too?
RustuPai I use my feet and my left hand. Most of the time I use the pedals to double what my left hand is doing. It makes the bass bigger and fatter.

14 people still think there's an off camera bass............
so "Delvon Lemar" plays the bass line on organ right? it sounds just like a bass guitar to me
lol, 14 dont like this great great band! one of my greatest discoveries!
kyle king yeah the bass line is coming from the organ
@@kyleking4028 One of the oldest tricks in the book.
On a vodka bender for a couple of weeks and i keep coming back for this shit every single afternoon. And it gets me every goddamn time.
joli!!!
delvon is playing two instruments at the same time.
wiked!
I really really dig this tune but I can't help but hearing Bill Withers" "Use me" when they start playing.
yeah, I don't think they're unaware of that. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, it's a nice extension of that groove----and all the subtle back-and-forth between organ and guitar makes it a a different experience.
That said, glad someone else heard the similarity, too. I
💥💥
The guitarist is playing a Silvertone, and that's pretty awesome. I'd love to know the model.
Not sure of the model, but that guitar was found in the garbage and fixed up before he bought it! And the Strat he uses, he's had since he was a teen. Love when musicians keep their instruments close to their hearts.
s beschte set johrzänte.. eifach ober guet!
straight up dread
A quand la sortie d'un disque vinyle ou cd
Mmmm hmmm!
In the pocket
Two uploads named 'Memphis'... This sounds like the New Mastersounds, Idle Time to me?
OMG that does sound very similar!!! Pretty cool...and thanks for introducing me to a cool new band.
...and check out that, uh, bass.
Doug
Make John Patton great again!
Bassist is jammin'... but where is he?
Interesting way to mic the leslie..
Hey "Jimmy James" I missed the drummer in the last video, where is he?
That snare is nice.
Is it a supraphonic?
Anyone know?
i'm not a pro. i guess it's super tight so that he can play gently and it still snaps.
What kind of silvertone is that ?
I love this! Who originally did this tune?
Hi MMSabre79,
It's a John Patton song off his album 'Memphis to New York Spirit.' You can read more about DLO3 from this video here: knkx.org/post/dlo3-brings-soul-jazz-good-times. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! These guys are great!
Sounds alot like the Meters to me. I'll have to check out this John Patton.
Paintings on the wall are on point
The funk is sizzlicious
That organ is erec........."t"
Drummer is cooking
But that guitar though ... Epic
the drum player was in undercover. he is a member of FBI
