      The haters are definitely Loud-but they don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. The amount of love she receives from people all around the world is enormous- hopefully big enough to drown out the noise of those who need to complain about someone. Shallow people will never understand her anyway.

    Fortnight is 14 days/two weeks. Usually used by Europeans like those in London. Fortnite is the game. People theorize that Midnights was, as described by Taylor, based on 13 sleepless nights...so Fortnight is the 14th day dawning after those 13 nights.

    Regarding the short amount of time left, what might work in your favour for the remaining albums is that there is not a whole ton of extra content beside the album and music videos. Due to Covid, there was the ocassional award show performance and video interviews, but it is by no means as excessive as the 1989 content you're currently plowing through where she was promoting it like crazy. Those albums won't have a long list of vault tracks either, so timing wise you might be able to pull it off. All things aside I would advise to continue chonologically, seeing as the relationship with Joe will span from Lover through Midnights and will most certainly be revisited on TTPD.

  • @amscaggs
    @amscaggs 3 месяца назад +9

    It’s a tough call. I do think this album will pickup where midnights left off and be about a breakdown and then breakup of a relationship and all of the albums you haven’t listened to yet could provide a lot of context. There aren’t as many interviews or live performances with rep/folklore/evermore (besides rep tour and long pond and I know youve seen those already) so maybe you’ll naturally get to it in time?

  • @heidimichelle4834
    @heidimichelle4834 3 месяца назад +20

    As far as order, I think the timeline is important, although, you could pull Folklore and Evermore out and go from Lover to Midnights. They are important, but not necessarily in order. A lot of people listen to those first and then go back and do the rest of the catalog in order. I do think Reputation to Lover to Midnights to TTPD will be a very important progression.

    • @carolla_michelle
      @carolla_michelle 3 месяца назад +2

      Folklore and Evermore have a few in there that are personal, she just hid it a bit better but I think in particular Invisible string, peace, hoax, the lakes, champagne problems, gold rush, tolerate it, long story short (I’ve probs missed some) all contain pivotal insights into what she was experiencing personally. I’m not buying the “stories of fictional characters” angle on every song.

    I think you’re ok to listen to TTPD with everyone and then go back to listening in order. Sure there may be a few references you don’t get, but good music and good lyrics are what they are! You wont need to know all the taylor lore to enjoy *any* of her music.
    Plus, realistically, you’ll get more viewership if you put TTPD reactions out as the album comes out! Which means more people watching when you get back on track to listening in order :-)
    If anything it’ll be a peek at what’s to come as far as her progression! Just my advice… enjoy :)

    As much as I would love your reaction to this when it comes out, I feel like if the content of this album is what we think it might be, then I believe you'll enjoy it TTPD more if you have all the historical context both of her stylistic evolution and her diaristic story telling.
    But I will be eagerly awaiting all reactions regardless of what order you choose! You do still have 2 months to catch up 🕛😂

    While I would love to experience this with you as soon as it comes out, I feel like, for you, chronological order is going to be pretty important. I think it's not a bad idea to listen to TTPD next, tbh. You can definitely react to the music and lyrics without the whole picture. But I read a comment that said to listen to Lover first. And if you're interested in getting a bit of an insight into her six-year relationship before TTPD (since it's heavily implied the new album is about that breakup), then, I think that might be a better idea! You can listen to Lover in March, then TTPD in April!

    So excited for this album and your reaction! But I think going in chronological order is best for understanding each album. I know you don’t wanna invest in the drama and that’s totally fine. But since Taylor has been with her ex boyfriend for such a long time and writing about him in so many songs and albums, this is probably going to be the „final“ one. Especially with So Long, London. I thinks it’s gonna be interesting for you to react to Lover etc and TTPD so up close, maybe you can see more parallels :)
    But either way I love your dedication and constructive feedback on the reaction videos! 🤍🫶🏻✨

    well...normally I would say, just f it and react to it, but since this is a Joe album and this situation has been apparently brewing over some time, I think that in this album there will be many references to the previous work she has done over the past 7 years since she started dating Joe and it would be a shame to miss some of them. so I think it would be wise to listen to Lover, you say you heard folklore, evermore, then the song Renegade co-written by Taylor which seems really important now, Midnights and the song The Alcott, where Taylor has written the bridge

    What if there's some stuff in the new album that will go over your head, like a tiny detail about something, and you missed it? As much as I would love to hear your thoughts and reaction to the new album, it would bum me out if you didn't get what she meant in the song and you're still once again confused and now have to end up looking up the info on that song.

    Excited and curious about this whole album. Wondering if “Florida!!!” is a reference to Eras Tour Tampa Night 3 when Taylor performed Mad Woman and Mean in what could’ve been a message about the damage done, including to women, by certain policies in FLA.
    Could “Fresh Out the Slammer” be a reference to Reputation? (“and he could be my jailer, Burton to this Taylor…”)?
    Alchemy - the Medieval belief that base metals could be transformed into gold. Taylor wrote about love being golden during her 6 year relationship that ended last year, so there’s quite a bit of theorizing about her writing about her possible tendency toward poetic alchemy.
    Also, the midnights clock choker Taylor wore looks very much like one seen in a photo of old Hollywood actress Clara Bow that’s been making the rounds since this track list was released.

    Check out Tea with Bree she does a rundown of the album of each track and possible references to each song. I agree her outfit is Black and White reference, her necklace has to do with the Eras tour bought and release by Disney March 15th. Possible twin album to reputation who knows. Or a close release date (two weeks). The Fortnite hidden meaning is 2 weeks.
    Her outfit resembles Clara Bow ....with reference of similarities between the two. She gave up her career for a man she loves. Also, speculation the song but Daddy I love him could reference The Little Mermaid....losing your voice for thinking you want something that's better but turns out isn't etc.
    All I know is I can't wait to hear this new album. & Reputation TV. Exciting.
    Check out Tea with Bree.
    I also watched the tarot reading from Aphrodite...he said this new album is what Midnight's was supposed to be. She went softer on Midnight's than she wanted & that this is left over what she wanted to do with that album. Take that how you want to.

    My Theories
    What if TTPD ventures into politics & "FLORIDA!!!" is about gender and sexual Identity/ women's rights/ autonomous decisions & the repressive state where "THE SMALLEST MAN WHO EVER LIVED" lives - hence "WHOS AFRAID OF LITTLE ME"
    The innocence of childhood, the magic of Disney, power of inspirational women, and of course poetry. Two is a recurring theme.
    Side A
    Fortnight (feat. Post Malone): Prequel to “The One”, inclusive of the sp. variations Childhood sleepovers/ Fort Night, video game, & Winter & Spring breaks ( 2 weeks)
    The Tortured Poets Department: (26 letters/2)
    My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys: Benjamin Button
    Down Bad: Football, Brads And Dads
    Side B
    So Long, London
    But Daddy I Love Him: Disney Vs. Desantis (HB1557 March 2022) Little Mermaid
    Fresh Out the Slammer: Rebound Love with nothing left to give
    Florida!!! (Florence + the Machine)
    Side C
    Guilty as Sin?
    Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?: Virginia Woolf (13) book “Orlando” about gender as a love letter to Vita Sackville-West
    I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)
    loml: Not by Celine Dion
    Side D
    I Can Do It With a Broken Heart: Inspirational Empowerment
    The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
    The Alchemy: The Magic of Love/ Passion/ Disney
    Clara Bow: The “IT” Girl, Roaring 20’s (tossing pennies)
    The Manuscript: Emily Dickinson

    I feel like a lot of people forget she has another B&W album cover.... reputation? My theory goes, reputation was, while clapping back at the media & Kanye (rightfully so), was her falling in love with Joe. Lover was her being totally and completely in love with Joe, Midnights was her falling out of love with Joe, and TTPD is her being broken by him/done with him. So my theory about the sound of the album is that it'll be a sonically cohesive mixture of those 4 albums. I understand why everyone immediately thinks folklore, which when I first saw the album cover folklore did pop in my head, but to me theres something different. I also just hope in general that it's not a 'folklore/evermore' sounding album. While I love those albums and they have some of my favorite TS songs on them, sonically they aren't my favorite. Sonically. Also, I think "Dear Reader" is a 'lead in' or transition to this album as it was the last song on 'Midnights'. And, I personally don't see Post Malone on a 'folklore/evermore' sounding track. Also when you really look at the album title's font, it feels like a softer/muddier 'reputation' font. I also read somewhere the album was labeled as 'synth-pop' which who knows if true or not. One thing I do hope for on this album, is the return of Max Martin & Shellback for at least some of the tracks as well as some new producers. Honestly getting a bit tired of Jack's production. To me, its became lackluster and a little empty sounding which he fills the 'emptiness' with strong bass. My dream would be for this album to have a soft-rock/pop vibe to it. If Jack is again the main producer on this album (which he probably will be ) I just feel it'll sound like a subdued "Midnights" which I already feel the production of that album could've been better. I do like Jack, but how do you go from something so epic and big like "Out Of The Woods" "I Wish You Would" & "Getaway Car" to pretty much all of his current work (with Taylor). I prefer "Midnights" Live over the album versions of the songs performed on The Eras Tour so much more. But regardless of production, genre, sound of the album, Lyrically, I think it's gonna hit HARD. You also gotta think, If she adds this album or new "era" to the end of The Eras Tour, It has to have some sort of 'finale' type sounding songs. Like she very well could add it in the tour before the "Midnights" era, but I dont feel like that'd make much sense. And if she does add a TTPD Era to the Tour after "Midnights", My theory is or idea for what she'd do to shorten the "Midnights" Era would be to Shorten Lavender Haze, Cut Midnight Rain & incorporate the outfit change in some other way, Keep Vigilant Shit in full, Bejeweled in full, cut Mastermind, then shorten Karma. At least thats how I'd do it. Guess we'll see when the first show is performed after the album releases! I just feel theres no way she won't, (or can't) include the new album once it's released in the Eras Tour as its own era (like instead of just doing new songs during the acoustic set). Because I don't see her doing a "The Tortured Poets Department Stadium Tour" next year since The Eras Tour literally doesn't end till December of this year then next year is when she's supposed to start writing/directing her new film for Searchlight (film studio). Last thing, I feel there's no way (and obviously I could be wrong) that she's going to end The Eras Tour without having released rep tv and debut tv. Like idk I feel like thats part of why she added the additional US dates at the end of the year plus the Canadian dates in December.

      Jack is doing a country album with Lana this year. Jack is an amazing producer and I feel he can do anything. I think in Midnights, Taylor was letting Jack be Jack, as its the only album the 2 of them have done mostly themselves. I think TTDS will be a completely new sound, possibly old school with the "noir" look and tracks like "Clara Bow"--20s and 30s actress.
