I have a Teisco Vision electric guitar 1969,I received it in perfect mint condition in 2011,I love to play with overdrive but also on clean,it sounds perfect for alternative rock, grunge, rock' n' roll,70's metal
Enjoy the Toy! Audition/Zenon made several varieties of this guitar. 1, 2 and 3 pups. Mine has the cool chrome pickguard, and better bridge, IMHO, gold foil pup rankings: 1) The ones from any brand SS-4L. Appearance; wider, shorter in length. Laid out > screws-slots-dots (Just ask Ry Cooder, its what he actually uses) 2) the wave and mustache pups from Harmony Rockets and Bobkats 3) This type. 4) Slot-screw-slot I like mine a lot, nice bark. Good deal, $110 June 2010, now 150-250.
My Audition sounds a lot like yours: 3 pickups; chrome pick guard and upgraded bridge (not original) that looks like a Tune-O-Matic roller. It's excellent condition. I haven't seen any others like this. Is it possible that you sold yours and I have it now?
It's those vintage Japanese 'gold foil' pickups that make the difference. I have 4 original gold foil pickups, 2 of them on a working Audition guitar (made by Teisco). They have a lovely clean tone, even when played through a fairly basic amplifier.
just bought one of these for 10.00.....the neck is bent up a bit.....and doesn't seem to be a truss rod. I was thinking of putting the neck between 2 saw horses with a weight on it.....either way from what I'm hearing on your video....the pickups are worth it alone. Got any idea where I can get a whammy bar? It's missing....does it look like any other types I might be able to modify.
I heated the neck and got the warp out....plays like a mother now. Weirdest intonated bridge. The G string was back where the E string is.....I had to add a piece of bone saddle and reintonate it.....it's dead on now. Did you have tuning problems? Looks like your's is holding well. I may have a weak spring in the tremelo. I may try to block it off.
David Kennedy. In the 1960's and 70's many more of these Japanese guitars were exported to America than the U.K. so American dealers in these guitars will undoubtedly have more original spares for them than here. Your missing whammy bar could have been fitted to other models as well as the example in the video. I would suggest an Ebay search in various categories, such as vintage musical instruments, and then vintage Japanese electric guitars, followed by parts for vintage Japanese guitars and so on. There are a lot of American sellers of vintage Japanese guitars on ebay. Good luck.
I recetly bought a cherry Zenon just like that one except a different tremolo. I also have the deluxe model with 3 pickups.

@@davidkennedy1271 In the 60's G strings were wound, maybe that's the reason ?
i found one same color only 3 toggle on top instead of 2 at a yard sale 10 bucks,,no strings i put new ones on an it sonds really good,,
10 bucks?? When, or where, i bought the same guitar for 170,,and without 2 pick ups and without bridge
Mine needs some serious fixing.
neck is thick,,yes,,,,im missin whammy bar
Yes it does, thanks
Would a tremelo from a Stratocaster work on this guitar?
Shame he doesn’t know how to demo a bridge pickup.
