Did I hear neck buzz? Another great guitar! We're living in a awesome day for guitar [players. There are so many new builders, with so many awesome new guitars, and re makes of some great, great classics! I just love the Spectrum 5 pro. Eastwood makes a really good replica, and these guitars are going North fast! But in general, young players, especially those on a budget as so many of us are these days, can get super quality guitars which can go head to head, and there are a few if you really do your homework, which are smoking the Gibsons, Fenders, and all the old school top of the mountain builders out these for a fraction of the price!! I finally pulled the trigger, almost 2 years ago and traded a Garrison 700 acoustic made in Canada, and an electric Ibanez 120 for a brand spanking new Cherry red Epiphone Casino because I am a HUGE BEATLE fan and they used the Casino on loads of their very best music, as well as solo!! Epiphone Casinos are also getting very popular AGAIN and are also available at a very affordable price for the quality. But they're going North also!! Great time to be a player!! Even better time to be a player on welfare!! ") Jack Canada
That weathering reminds me of some sort of vehicle that's been well-used... like Amtrak trains before they really started cleaning them. Also, I absolutely cannot get enough of those square-pole pickups. They sound fucking radical, especially paired with those metal pickguards.
My gut reaction when I first looked at this guitar was w-t-f! But that thing wails, some great sounds coming from that guitar. I had a '67 Plymouth Belvedere like that!
Another incomparable performance by the amazing Mike Dugan. What a superb sounding guitar. Seeing Mike wave through the hole made me think of Willie Nelson's holey old guitar. That lead to me wondering what Mike would sound like playing a Dobro guitar. Do you carry any acoustic guitars?
OMG!!!! I have the St. George T-64 1960 Bass VI!!!!! See it Blasting METAL here BRO! /w\ /w\ Man, that's FUNKY! ...now some kind of Tool sounding jam...IT's an attenuation switch, kills output a little is all... IT's beautiful and my favorite color.
Fantastic video and playing as always! Question: what is that switch just above the middle pickup? I saw Mike flip it at 2:50 or so. Also, thanks so much for your book, History Of Japanese Electric Guitars -- absolutely love it: my first four guitars from my childhood and teens were in that book! Great read.
are you sure this is a 64? I have a 64 tg64 and it has the tone knob on the same pickguard as the pickups and the round pickups. I think they started using those pickups around 66
hey ! i love the look of these old guitar i have been checkin out all your videos its rad! I cannot say anything about the sound cause its youtube , how do you record them? im planning on getting one of these on reverb.com how well is the playabilty? compared to a lets say fender american strat( which is what i play right now) thanks if get a chance to answer me!
Usually the playability is not very good. In my experience these old Teisco guitars can sound and play great but it will take some work. This one was re-wired and re-fretted... even flipped the magnets to get hum cancelling.

Love the little hand wave in the end :)

Awesome! And that switch is like a pre-set tone switch.
It's a rhythm/solo switch. cuts the output of the pickups and I believe it scoops out some of the bass. at least that's what it sounds like to my ears
yeah!
Great
😊😊😊
Got any tabs for the Chuck Berry??
Mike I do believe that this is your favorite guitar just on the Chuck Berry alone.
This guitar does have soul

Oh, and the recording, I just straight mic the amp and then into my computer, really simple set up
Great guitar, great playing and great sound. What kind of amp are you playing through?
For this one we used a Savage Macht amp, made in the USA!
Green River!
Raunchy!
It may be from japan.. but it rocks like the USA!!!
How much?
Great playing! You have a lot of guitars, what your favorit?
It's hard to say, so many nice guitars....
