Biography from FB band page:
The Jompson Brothers were born in a garage in Nashville, TN as a result of late-night jam sessions between former SteelDrivers frontman Chris Stapleton (vocals, guitar) and Greg McKee (guitar). Bard McNamee (drums) and J.T. Cure (bass) were soon added to the equation, more jamming ensued, and the band was complete.
Their self-titled debut (produced by Frank Rogers) was released in the Fall of 2010 and has drawn comparisons to Led Zeppelin, Gov't Mule, and Drive-By Truckers. The band has spent 2011 playing shows all around the Southeast to eager and enthusiastic crowds. During that time, the guys have shared stages with North Mississippi Allstars, J. Roddy Walston and The Business, Darius Rucker, The Felice Brothers and more.

how the Jompson brothers arent known world wide, is beyond me. We ALL can see Chris's talent, but the WHOLE band is off the chain good.
I have to say this is the most gratifying show I have ever done sound for. Simply awesome talent!
You did a damn fine job.
Is that a Peavey Classic on the floor behind Chris?
They just didn't know at the time they were in the presence of a house hold name... Reunion time... make it happen Chris...
This is nuts! I feel like Stapletons earliest projects were his best work. Incredible band/performance!
Fully agree ❤
Chris Stapleton is hands down the most amazing/ unique singer on earth. He puts so much emotion and heart into his music.
Stapleton has the best voice on the planet
chris stapleton is the best I have ever listen to in my life, hands down. He just makes you feel like your in anther world, his voice is light years away from all the other people that j think can sing.... Truly grown mans music!!!!!!!!!!
The Jompson Brothers we a friggin Rock in band. Only one album, but what they put down in this video says what they could do. And they Rock..
They need to do this again
This reminds me of seeing The Arc Angel’s tour their first record - before they disappeared into other peoples projects for eons! But they came back - and I sure hope these guys come back, too!
Peace
It was! I was there. May not look like a crowd, but it was. And they kicked ass!!!
When I think of all the crappy music that has come out in the last decade and the fools who produce it, I wonder to myself how these guys weren’t the biggest band in the world. What was better? Who sang better? Whose guitar riffs were better? Who had more soul? Every music executive should be ashamed. Every critic should be ashamed. Every radio executive should be ashamed. These guys should have been headlining giant tours. Someone please explain how it didn’t happen. How could we not know these guys? Been to a Stapleton show, it was great, but, this stuff is so much better. The guitarist really propelled it to another level.
Why am I just discovering this band. I'm pissed I didn't know about them. The whole music industry is to blame, I want to add radio to your list of people who are screwing us out of good music
The answer to your question is that great music with emotion and soul, and biggest band in the world are just about mutually exclusive these days. The record companies mostly SQUASH the best talent, or they ignore their requests to keep doing what they have been doing. They think that they are the experts on music and what sells. And maybe they are. But normally they take talented bands, change them to fit some mold or genre and a lot of that soul that made them great gets lost.
Most of the best bands and artists these days are independant. By remaining independent they retain control over their music, what gets recorded and how and where they tour. In exchange for keeping their soul (pun intended) they give up the huge promotional budgets and connections with the biggest promoters and broadcasters that the the major record labels can offer. This is typically an intentional decision by the artists. It's not that the major labels don't want them, it's that the artists don't want the sacrifices they have to make to sign with them. Basically they have decided that their artistry is more important to them than getting rich.
If you like this music, seek out the other awesome independent bands out there performing great Southern Rock, Blues and Country. Check out bands like Whiskey Myers, Cody Canada and the Departed, Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers, and one of my favorites, two rocking sisters out of Georgia - Larkin Poe. Every one of these artists kick the crap out of most "Big Name" bands from the major labels. And seriously - DO NOT skip Larkin Poe cuz you think ladies can't rock your face off!
Try 102 The Cue internet radio. They play the good stuff all night and day

Ye southern rock & country songwriter... And the dude CAN sing !
i don't understand how I could've only started listening to them in the last year or so. Even spoke to someone else about it, who is a musician too,and they hadn't ever heard of them ,either. Anyone know the name of the guitarist ?
Chris Stapleton - vocals, guitar // Bard McNamee - drums // Greg McKee - guitar // JT Cure - bass
Just caught the first 30 min. These guys kinda put me in mind of Humble Pie. I'll have to come back for the rest of the show.
All of the people that just won't shut up have no idea who is front of them... Why do people want to go to live music and then never shut up to hear it?
Are there any bootleg cds of this show...?
Dudes have you forgotten!!!!
