The sixth generation of the Ford F-Series, also known as the "dentside Ford" to enthusiasts, is a line of pickup trucks and medium-duty commercial trucks that were produced by Ford Motor Company from the 1973 to 1979 model years. Produced by Ford in North America, Argentina, and Australia, this is the third and final generation of trucks derived from the 1965 Ford F-Series.
The sixth generation marked several functional design changes and an expansion of the model line. For 1973, the regular cab F-350 became available with a wide "Styleside" bed for the first time. For 1974, a "SuperCab" extended cab pickup truck was introduced, between the two-door standard cab and the four-door crew cab. For 1975, the F-150 was introduced; a higher-payload version of the F-100 (intended to circumvent emissions standards), the F-150 would become the most popular version of the model line (ultimately replacing the F-100). A second generation of the Ford Bronco SUV was released for 1978 (after several years of delays) on a shortened F-100 chassis.
In 1977, the model line became the best-selling truck in the United States, a position it has held ever since.

lost moose: None of the American manufacturers build vehicles that are that great these days.
I’ve owned more Fords than any other make.
I’ve owned a 74 Mustang II, A 71 F250, That was a hand me down from my father that he bought in 72 used with 10k miles on it when he bought it used (I live in a small town and still see that truck occasionally to this day) I had a 78 E350 for several years that was used as service rig for myself and a buddy of mines P-Stock And Open Class Pro Rally Cars: 50 Thousand Miles Of No Problems Going From The West Coast To The East Cost And Everywhere In Between Plus Once Into Baja California For Four Years With Nothing But Normal Maintenance. Never Let Us Down…
I Still Have My 96 F350 7.3 Power-Stroke Diesel I Special Ordered New ( The Only Vehicle I Ever Bought New) It’s got a Banks Kit With An Inter-Cooler ( The early 7.3’s Didn’t Have Factory Installed Intercoolers) It’s got a 132k on it and It Runs Like A Raped Ape.
I also have a 79 Bronco that’s stock except for a six inch lift, 3/4 Ton Floating Axles And A Stroked 410CI 351 Windsor.
I Don’t Beat On It: But I DO Use It. Amazing Amount Of Torque!
Because of its Width, I do have to go Over Things that Early Bronco’s And Jeeps go Between. But it definitely gets the job done.

I am 61 and have bought 4 vehicles in my lifetime, all Ford. Starting with a '69 Bronco I bought In 1981 when I graduated high school, a 1974 F250 4x4, a 1997 F350 4x4 and a 2003 Town car. I still own all 4 and drive all of them on a regular basis.

Awesome! My father had a 1975 beige and metallic blue f-150 with cap.
Had a plow, did all the manly stuff one did with a pickup. he did not have to
lift it, have toe hitch nuts, or flags flying on it to prove anything. Used it for hunting,
towing, carrying things our 1974 Pontiac Lemans couldn't. He was not afraid to get
it dirty, for him it was for daily and work. And he did not worry about it being pretty.
We did not need a computerized tank that hogs roads and parking lots.
