The sixth generation of the Ford F-Series, also known as the "dentside Ford" to enthusiasts, is a line of pickup trucks and medium-duty commercial trucks that were produced by Ford Motor Company from the 1973 to 1979 model years. Produced by Ford in North America, Argentina, and Australia, this is the third and final generation of trucks derived from the 1965 Ford F-Series.
The sixth generation marked several functional design changes and an expansion of the model line. For 1973, the regular cab F-350 became available with a wide "Styleside" bed for the first time. For 1974, a "SuperCab" extended cab pickup truck was introduced, between the two-door standard cab and the four-door crew cab. For 1975, the F-150 was introduced; a higher-payload version of the F-100 (intended to circumvent emissions standards), the F-150 would become the most popular version of the model line (ultimately replacing the F-100). A second generation of the Ford Bronco SUV was released for 1978 (after several years of delays) on a shortened F-100 chassis.
In 1977, the model line became the best-selling truck in the United States, a position it has held ever since.

Amazing Classic Ford F truck! 🚘😎
I am 61 and have bought 4 vehicles in my lifetime, all Ford. Starting with a '69 Bronco I bought In 1981 when I graduated high school, a 1974 F250 4x4, a 1997 F350 4x4 and a 2003 Town car. I still own all 4 and drive all of them on a regular basis.
In the same time I went through 8 or 9 wifes 😂
My ford's R '37,'75(retired at this time) ,' 83 ,' 96, 99. All run except the 75 4x4. . One of these day I may get it running.
Real trucks. Real men. The real America. Not the insufferable pansy-fest of today. I yearn for these days to return.
“Pansy-fest” Well said! 👍🏻
The 70s? They literally had shirts called Pansey shirts.
Plus everyone had long hair.
I dont, i got paid shit for shit back then, now im cruising on retirement
Vote for Trump. 😊❤
lol, so true
1967 is long over...
2024: 93 out of 100 Fords have their first breakdown on the way home from the dealership 😂
lost moose: None of the American manufacturers build vehicles that are that great these days.
I’ve owned more Fords than any other make.
I’ve owned a 74 Mustang II, A 71 F250, That was a hand me down from my father that he bought in 72 used with 10k miles on it when he bought it used (I live in a small town and still see that truck occasionally to this day) I had a 78 E350 for several years that was used as service rig for myself and a buddy of mines P-Stock And Open Class Pro Rally Cars: 50 Thousand Miles Of No Problems Going From The West Coast To The East Cost And Everywhere In Between Plus Once Into Baja California For Four Years With Nothing But Normal Maintenance. Never Let Us Down…
I Still Have My 96 F350 7.3 Power-Stroke Diesel I Special Ordered New ( The Only Vehicle I Ever Bought New) It’s got a Banks Kit With An Inter-Cooler ( The early 7.3’s Didn’t Have Factory Installed Intercoolers) It’s got a 132k on it and It Runs Like A Raped Ape.
I also have a 79 Bronco that’s stock except for a six inch lift, 3/4 Ton Floating Axles And A Stroked 410CI 351 Windsor.
I Don’t Beat On It: But I DO Use It. Amazing Amount Of Torque!
Because of its Width, I do have to go Over Things that Early Bronco’s And Jeeps go Between. But it definitely gets the job done.
They’re more reliable than any of the new Toyota trucks 😂
The one with the 1968 model Ford truck reminded me of the 1970 Ford i had you can jump them like that and the truck will be fine but you will feel a lot of pain on the landings😂😂😂
The first pickup I remember us having had a steel dash and my little brother loved to stand up on the seat despite being told not to. Dad bounced him off that steel dash half a dozen times before he learned to stay sitting. 🤣
Good old days.
I love it when the vid said BUILT TEXAS-TOUGH/ FORD FOR LIFE
Hi
When trucks didn't cost 95k
And actually were tough, not plastic
Ha ha! That’s true plastic bends and you can just pop the plastic back by hand!
People are stupid to spend that kind of money on a truck
Awesome! My father had a 1975 beige and metallic blue f-150 with cap.
Had a plow, did all the manly stuff one did with a pickup. he did not have to
lift it, have toe hitch nuts, or flags flying on it to prove anything. Used it for hunting,
towing, carrying things our 1974 Pontiac Lemans couldn't. He was not afraid to get
it dirty, for him it was for daily and work. And he did not worry about it being pretty.
We did not need a computerized tank that hogs roads and parking lots.
The Courier commercial is cool with that Husky in the back including the others and the riders ...same goes for the van commercial.....that's the era I raced motocross and I remember those vans at the track👍👍👍
.
The comercial catch phrase is hilarious, 93 percent of for trucks built in 1963 are still on the job, hilarious.
Cuando los vehículos eran duraderos y sin nada de tanta seguridad y esas cosas, aquí en México aun se ven trokas de esos modelos que las traen trabajando en los ranchos o carnicerias cargando animales y no se rajan💪
Mr majestic was badass
Still is, watched him yesterday
Good old days are gone and lost forever
Back then ford chevy and dodge were all good.
I remember my brother jumping the rail road loading ramp with his 65 f250 twin I beam suspension
Try driving it with newer trucks nowadays, all the plastic crap would fly off from it. 😂
Not really though
Nope. The emission system getting knocked around would shut everything down first.
Try that with a new truck ,
Plastic will fly and the electric 💩 will flash, the body will twist and we all know the rest, FORD is made for looking, not in this new generation extra lights, jacked up, 99 inch wheels and a boom box with heated tailgate for pushing
3 texans slammin a door , just shows ford has practice at makin hinges , especially hood hinges🤣
Twin I beam , really ... especially the ones with a dana 44 mounted upside down , love those , made a lot of money replacing them...
Uncle Jesse, NO!
When i was on a world challenge race team 1995 we bought a Chevrolet diesel tow truck it grenaded the turbo the first time out going up fancy gap we barely made it to the race made the dealer take it back bought a new powerstroke 7.3 dually and never looked back.
Little Johnny used 200 sq. feet of galvanized square steel and screws he stole from his auntie (2:36)
Back when men were men. And the sheep...well, the sheep were a little nervous
I take a lot of crap from friends that are Chevy addicts. Yet they call me for tows when their trucks break down. My '89 Bronco XLT, '90 F‐100 are built Ford tough. Say what you want...
Ford stands for...
For Only Real Dudes (Dudettes)
To each their own.
Good thing we have choices
I've pulled more fords out in my 2 wheel drive 91 suburban. I'm glad we can choose our own. 😅
I’ve towed more than a couple Chevy’s with my Ford: On a trailer…
And then you woke up. 😂
@@DavidLeffel-j6k I’m Anything But Woke….
But I appreciate your opinion.
New truck would die immediately. Also no way they can jump it and still drive it lol.
Wow I might switch to Ford
They sound Great 👍
Is a Diesel ⛽ included? or is this extra cost?
Why does the title say 1966?
That when ford trucks wore relabeling and awesome I have 2019 and it is junk
A new Raptor can’t jump like the old ones. Sad.
Ur trippin
John Wayne wouldn't even drive a ford.😅
He wouldn't even join the military either. He was the only actor during WWII that would not join the service. He was a coward.
@@mikehenry4743 How about telling us the real story behind why he refused to join?
@@tcmtech7515 The claims were he did not want to be away from his family.
@@mikehenry4743 And how is that cowardly?
@@tcmtech7515 Geeze, let me see. While all this guys peers went off to war, putting life and limb on the line, he decided not to go because he didn't want to leave his wife. I would bet 99% of the veterans that went off to war have not wanted to leave their families but went anyway. But, not Johnny, he chose to be a coward because he didn't want to miss his wife. Sorry you are blinded by your idle worship of a fake American hero, but the guy refused to do his duty and chose to sit out the war, comfortably at home next to his wife.
Impresionante..aun siendo fanatico de Chevrolet Gmc reconozco muy bueno productos como la Raptor
Clip from Mr majestic proves Ford USE TO build tough trucks, now cheap knock off costume jewelry. POS
Looks like the 1800s 😂
These guys clearly never heard of Amiri King.
Neither have the rest of us.
@@tcmtech7515 Look him up on here if you want a laugh.
Toyota Tacoma on standby here for stuck Fords
Chevy Silverado jajajaja😅😅😅😅😅
basic trucks that last and look great, any mans truck. modern society is doomed
They are still registered because they won't start
1976 trucks, not 1966
47años despues las f100 siguen trabajando saludos desde argentina
93 out of a 100 , just shows most fords were sold for mild week end use , 7 out of 100 were actually used to work , real men use chevys 😎
Your joking right??Chevys are what women drive and for good reason. They were always built cheap and GM used the cheapest parts on them.Just look around, there's lots of 70s ford trucks still on the road in my area and I'm in the rust belt...but not a one chevy from the 70s that I know of..It's a very good education for slow learners!
Where Im from. We have cold weather and oilfields. All the work trucks are Fords. Gee. I wonder why.
@@jimmillet1442 Chevy’s did have a good idea though: The Rust Trough Fenders And Floor Boards Were Great For Giving Easy Access For Maintenance…
