    I want to thank everyone for their kind words about Melissa. She was my Aunt Lisa but took care of me like her own. You can’t imagine the hell our family went through and the hell my grandmother still goes through all these years later. It’s nice to hear kind words, other comments on other postings have not been so nice and have went as far as to say “she should have seen it coming.” I will admit when I was 14 and I first heard she was killed I was angry at her for not fighting harder and for leaving me. Now I know though that no person ever really “sees it coming.” I really do appreciate the kind words, it means a lot to me.

    When I was a realtor I had a call to show a empty house. I felt uncomfortable going alone and asked a male coworker to go with me. So glad Melissa and her baby's grave didn't contain the word 'O'Connell'. I never understood why some murder victims still have their husband's last name engraved, it should be a law that any female murdered by their spouse should automatically have their husband's last name removed, and only have their maiden name for their grave

    • @redsroses4218
      @redsroses4218 2 года назад +20

      I completely agree. Idk about making it a law (I mean can we please stop trying to legislate EVERYTHING!)
      But it’s in very poor taste to include the last name of the murderer. For their loved ones, it must be hard to see the name every time they go to their grave. Since the person paying for the stone chooses the words that go on it, you’d think they wouldn’t want the murderer’s name on it. 🤷‍♀️

      When the cops see someone frantically pulling up on them like that, they could be facing someone trying to shoot them, someone telling them that aliens just kidnapped and probed them, or - I found a body. The life of an officer is SUPER unpredictable!
