Didn’t I see a green roller spreader in opening of video? Shovels do not spread compost evenly. If you are trying to level the ground I suggest using sand and Black Kow mix using a lawn leveling rake. Labor is money. The two tools I mentioned here will last decades. Imagine that you can pass it on to someone and make the world better!
Not all "weeds" are bad. It's personal choice, really. Lots of self-described weeds are native to the USA (i.e. viola, milkweed). Some like dandelion aerate soil with its long taproot and provide early nectar sources for native pollinators especially since it can survive mowings. Clover has also been described as a weed, but now even farmers use it to add nitrogren back to their soil and attract bees... Not everyone wants an all-green lawn devoid of life and poisoned with god-knows-what pesticides.
Thanks for the video!
great explanation, thank you!

Still need to treat the weeds and there's quite a bit in that lawn. At least I would before I started adding seed and fertilizer/top dressing
