LEGO needs to just stuck with making LEGO!
I really wished that the droid set would be a cheap $30 playset, like how many other people wished, too, instead of a GWP.
You can also just part out the set for 20$
But why would lego include a minifig gwp when they can just forcibly raise the price on new star wars sets by like 10% by including a completely unrelated minifig, whom you may or may not have ever heard of?...

I dont get it. Why should a gwp be some thing valuable that you can sell later for money, rather than having a small and cute trinket. This investor mind set really fried the brains of the community.

This should never have been a GWP. Frankly no brick built set should be imo. I think GWPs should either be sets already on shelves, sets that WILL go on shelves, or minifig polybags.

Yes, if the value of a GWP is that it's a 'free gift', then it needs to also be available for a normal price.
As it is, most of it's value comes from it's exclusivity and resell value as an investment product, meaning the people that gain the most from it are the people that care more about money than the actual lego. Lego fully knows this, and it's sad how much they cater towards this group over normal lego fans.
@@jimwar211 The GWPs are carrots to sell more sets. They're not catering to flippers; they don't care what happens to the sets after they leave the store. Lego's aim is to move units, full stop.
