    It’s been a year now since I have installed the N2 remote starter on my taco and also referred to a few friends who has it also and we are loving it especially with the NE weather, now I have purchased my add on mod and can’t wait to receive it so I don’t have to get into a cold car when I get out of work.... Much respect to N2 Designs

    The notes on the video state that the TPMS green wire stripping is only for manual transmission, but the guy doing it refers that part to applying to both auto and manual?

    • @n2designsinc
      @n2designsinc  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, both. There is no way around it.

    So the whole putting the truck in Ready Mode is only for manual transmission correct? Not automatic?

    • @n2designsinc
      @n2designsinc  4 года назад +1

      Correct. ONLY on manual because we need to ensure it is NOT left in gear. Automatic transmissions don't need to do this. You can do key take over all day all night and no "ready mode" like the manuals because we already know its in "Park" when off.

    Mines coming in tomorrow! just in time for the cold weather. What's the deal with the tpms? What role does it play in this system? Just curious.

    • @n2designsinc
      @n2designsinc  5 лет назад +1

      TPMS is what allows you to unlock your vehicle after a remote start, while it is running. Without it, you would have to put the key into the keyhole to get in. This is so that you can conveniently get in to do key takeover and drive off without your engine ever turning off.

    So you only need to cut the tpms if you have manual? But if you have auto no need to cut?

    • @n2designsinc
      @n2designsinc  4 года назад

      ONLY ON HKEY AT and MT, TPMS gets Cut but will STILL OPERATE AS NORMAL. Push to Start, and Standard Key (Base model SR without dealer OEM fob) are both 100% plug n play.

    Will this kit work for the 2020. I see 2016-2019. I have push to start

    • @n2designsinc
      @n2designsinc  4 года назад

      This kit specifically is for HKEY Auto and Manual as well as the same to an extent for standard key, not push to start. We have a different video for push to start. And yes, we go all the way up to current models for this application regardless of ignition or transmission type!

    So if don't do any steps for the "ready mode" and I just turn off the car normally, will the car will act normal? I mean the dashboard and engine will shut off immediately and the TPMS light won't be popping out when I enter the car again right?, I want to install this for the winter but in the seasons I won't use it, I want the truck to act like I have no mod installed at all , is that the way this works?

    • @n2designsinc
      @n2designsinc  5 лет назад +1

      That is correct. In fact you can still put it in ready mode, if the vehicle isn't remote started (meaning manually started), it still business as usual as if it wasn't there. The lights go away on key takeover anyways.

    What if we have the TPMS light on because of an aftermarket wheels with no tire pressure sensor ? Will that hinder the installation of this kit ?

    • @n2designsinc
      @n2designsinc  5 лет назад

      No, but if your TPMS lights are there now, they'll be there after as well because of that.

    My only con between choosing MT over AT in my new Tac was not having remote start for the MT (New England winters!!!)...so thanks so much for making this. Is that Rob's truck?

    N2 my wire harness where the tpms wire is supposed to be is different than in your video. Many more wires and no light green one. Just a regular green. Help!
    Its a manual 2020 trd pro

      Hi Zach! The video was filmed before 2020+ came out, but per the included document guide, it mentions that your wire (is in the same position) but is going to be light pink.

  • @Gabriel-tb3mk
    @Gabriel-tb3mk 4 года назад +1

    So is there any chance cutting the wire for the TPMS system will act out and start throwing off sensors?

    • @n2designsinc
      @n2designsinc  4 года назад +2

      Not a chance. thousands sold, not once, no. And it is not being rendered useless, the snip gets routed to our easy clamp connectors, and we temporarily disable it for remote start then re-engage it after so it's like nothing ever happened!

      @@gregorybond2859 I recommend it 👍. This past summer was pretty hot in SoCal and it helped having that ac already blasting by the time I got into my truck.
