Those lights on the rear tailgate are Whelen's Strip-Lite™ Plus lightheads. We use those a lot in our builds front and back. They are very versatile!

How did you get the whelen strip lite on the running boards to mount well since it isn’t a perfect surface mount

Whelen makes a 90-degree strip-lite bracket that allows us to position those lights on to the running board. We use them all the time in this scenario as well as inside windows on trucks and SUVs.
