I remember where I was the first time I heard Straight Outta Compton. Me and my homeboy got his mom to buy the album she didn't bother to see what it was or the parental advisory sticker which was new back then and we went and heard it in his room in the back of the house. That was the first time "I witnessed the strength of street knowledge."

This whole thing is amazing. From the original NWA to these incredible actors and everyone a part of this project. I get so overwhelmed with joy and I can only think of two words: Legendary & Legacy. Everybody has left their mark and it's so good seeing not just African Americans stand together and create such a thing but beings in general. This is going down in history once again

I remember when I first heard the song “dopeman”, I was 16 or 17 in high school and when I heard the words I immediately connected with the song just like that.....I’ve never used drugs but hearing the words felt like i knew the song for years, thanks Ice Cube your lyric writing was way ahead of its time back then and still is to this day.

I loveeeeee this movie it brings back so many memories. my brother took me to the NWA tour in 89 I was young but he had to take me cuz my mom had to work and him and his friends had already bought tickets & he was watching me at the time. so I had to go with him. he bought my ticket at the box office and I didn’t have a seat 💺 with him. but my brother stood the entire concert so I could sit in his seat. they came to philly twice cuz the first show was sold out from what I can remember…

I am so proud of the era I grew up in. NWA oh boy had the cassette in my 1989 Ford focus and it was on ,To see this movie knowing where these guys came from and what they have accomplished is Phenomenal and I truly believe if Eazy had lived he would have been successful as well in the move he had come around and seen what Cube was telling him all alone . I am 50 years old and proud to say I love what rap has done for our culture and communities around the world , the true story telling from people who lived it. GREAT!!!!!

This movie is a real gem and I kinda regret not watching it on theater. It's really worth it, so if you haven't seen it and it's playing in your local theater, go see it there. :)
I liked the part at 8:12 when the cast took a picture with the original members. If Eazy-E was still here he would have been standing right behind Jason Mitchell.
TBH.. i waited 25years to see this movie.. to actually see Ice cube dr.dre eazy e mc ren yella come to life yet again in rare form this time on the big screen.. dr.dre & Ice cube introduced me or sort of diagnosed gangsta or rather reality rap music to me in 1987 & i was 9years old listening to fat girl and 8ball.. my music is a reflection of what and who i am all because i was introduced to this world of music by these 5 guys from compton while i was just a kid in Chicago illinois Dearborn homes project.. if i had any producer and writer of my choice to collaborate and work with, it definitely would be the originators, the true pioneers that starte it all and opened my eyes to my surroundings and what was taking place all over the country in every urban community, it be Dr.Dre & Ice cube.. dre with the dopest, flyest, seriousness of his sound and production and cube with his raw up in your face detailed, no holds barred take no prisoners story telling abilities.. yeah straight outta compton was and still is & will continue to remain the crown jewel that every lyricist, rapper, writer, producer, d.j, etc.. looks to, to heighten his or hers career and to look upon as something to achieve as a group or a solo artist that wants longevity in this game.. i pray i get my shot to show you guys what i have to bring to hiphop and music..
