done it the Maradona way, waiting for the keeper to move slightly and deciding where to put it at the VERY last moment .... taking it like that requires an amazing level of self confidence and great technique, because as the kicker you don't know where you are going to put it until the last instant and you decide the direction only after putting the last foot down .... As a Spanish fan, i must say that Italy now has my full support for the finals, imo we had great chances and good opportunities, but Italy defended incredibly well and had such velocity attacking. My worst nightmare was going to penalties, and i was right :( well, Forza Italia, I’ll be rooting for you

As a die hard Italy fan, that first half had me very fucking worried 😂😂 But hats of to Spain man, they played really good but just weren’t clinical enough. They played the ball around exceptionally though .. and poor Olmo, man of the match for me but blasted his penalty over the bar 😭
This is the strength of this Italy: it can be playing beautifully first touch and possession or park the bus with the original "catenaccio" and counter attack, which is the original DNA!

They have played well but if we beat Denmark I don't think they will be able to put up with sterling kane grealish and with Shaw and maguire looking good at the back it's gonna be hard for them

Spain played their best game yesterday. They have a lot of quality both on the pitch and the bench. Each one of their substitutions was better than the previous. I'm glad we managed to beat them. Now let's see who's gonna go through. Honestly i can't choose. Even tho many people seem to be convinced about Denmark being an easier opponent, i can't trust this competition anymore.

The Jorginho penalty kick was incredible
he took it like Maradona, by watching the keeper's movement and deciding where to put it at the very last moment. If you stop the image right before the kick the keeper moved at the very last moment too and that's when Jorginho decided where to put it. If you look videos of Maradona's penalties he used the exact same technique.
Balotelli too was told to study Maradona's way of taking them (although Balotelli needed to make that little stop to make it work)
Always nice to see a reaction inside the stadium. Spain clearly deserved the victory on this one but Italy had a better journey until now so Forza Azzurri. I'm sorry because you're english but I really hope Italy is gonna take the cup.

You have the superior tournament record, winning the same amount of World Cups, but more European trophies and have also reached more finals and semi finals than us and pretty much everybody else. We have the better head-to-head record though, 15 wins for Italy, 8 for Germany and 12 draws, and Italy haven't lost to Germany, in open play, in tournament football.
