- This time on Kawai we farewell Jase's parents however receive some new crew Damien (Richo) and Nicole also from Australia.
We experience one last day trip with Jase’s parents as we sail to ‘Lady of the rocks’ near Perast from Kotor before they must depart and continue their travels. Lady of the rocks in usually only visited by small boat from Perast but we park Kawai in the 'bay of Kotor' and visit by tender.
After Rod and Cath leave we head to a new anchorage Uvala Sutvara which is perfect for relaxation and is a perfect spot to keep Kawai. We finally get some great weather and plenty of sun which allows Trace and I to swim and bake.
Richo and Nicole arrive in Kotor so we sail back and pick them up and celebrate. It’s not long however before we climb the ladder of Kotor and St John Fortress. The ladder of Kotor has stunning views over the ‘Bay of Kotor’ and once you reach the summit you have views as far as Croatia and Tivet unfortunately the clouds spoiled the view.
We also take Damien and Nicole out for their first sail from Kotor, which they enjoy, sailing up through the mountainous bay past Perast and Lady of the rocks for a swim before anchoring in Risan.
Unfortunately the time for Damien and Nicole comes to an end and we sail back to Kotor for some sailing cards fun before they continue their travel through Europe.
About us:
Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai.
We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean.
Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :)

Giant Kross-ont! Love it!
Hahaha glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing your adventures and beautiful scenery. The hike seems challenging but definitely worth it.
Yes Huzefa, definitely worth it! No problems at all, glad you are enjoying the vids :) Chat soon
Great video guys! Kotor looks like a stunning place. Enjoy the warmer weather and swimming. Looking forward to seeing where you go next!
Thanks Julz, yeah it's amazing, can't wait to show you :) Thanks for watching!
Glad to see you guys got some sun at last. It's been absolutely miserable here in the UK. If we can't find a boat by August we are heading to Thailand for a few months until the end of the sailing season 😄
Montenegro looks amazing!
Haha thanks Nick, so are we!! Sorry to hear the weather in the UK is miserable ☹️ do you have to stay there all summer? Were you planning a trip to Greece? Thailand sounds like a great idea!! Montenegro is amazing, highly recommend once you get your boat!
@@SailingKawai we are just about to complete on another rental property that needs a full remodel. That should take us till the end of July then we are selling the van and packing up the tools for good (well a few years at least). We would have had to juggle this last bit of work around having a boat if we had found one. Shame tho as we was hoping to get this done and set sail! But as you have said buying a boat takes a long time and especially to find the right one. We are happy to wait and spent 4 month in Thailand a few years back so will be happy there until a boat comes up. I definitely will be picking your brain when we do find one, will probably be retracing your steps almost exactly. 😁😁😁
"Hi we are are currently in (insert-location) and we are expecting a strong South Westerly can you recommend an anchorage"
Haha
Speak soon, fair winds and lots of sunshine!!!
Edit: sorry, yes we was planning a trip to grease but decided to stay in the UK and help a family member with some work they are having done on their house. There was no boats there to see as well.
Good video guys but with winter setting in Oz you are likely too have plenty of crew volunteers.
Hahaha yes John we have more crew coming Friday and next month, can't blame them :) Hope you enjoyed the vid!
Tiny tea at 10 am
Hi Tracey, Jason. Thanks for these videos. My wife and I (also from Oz) are making similar boat buying and sailing adventure plans. Quick question (which you may have already answered in the vids I haven't watched yet) - how are you dealing with Schengen Area visa issues and the 90 days in/90 days out rule? We see this as a bit of a problem for cruising in the Europe/Scandinavia/Med region at the start of our journey. I'll binge watch now and hopefully find how you're managing. Regards, Rick.
Hi and no worries at all :) That's exciting, are you currently in Europe or tying up loose ends in Australia. So far we haven't had to many problems as we have used Turkey, Montenegro and Croatia as our non Schengen countries. As we head for the exit it will be a faster sail as we really will only have 2.5 months to reach the canary Islands, also Shengen so not ideal. The other option is to leave the boat in Schengen, but travel to Non Schengen countries, but again not ideal. Hope that helps with your question. Thanks for watching and glad you are enjoying the video's. Good luck, hopefully you will be on the water soon :)
Bay of Boka is the only fyord in the Mediterranean.
What an amazing area to sail and explore. Loved our time in Montenegro, can't wait to get back! Thanks for watching :)

Montenegro is an independent country. Part of the UN: in the Baltics. Across from Italy & above 🇦🇱. Was part of Yugoslavia.
@@lighthouselaura4324 That's not Montenegrian flag, but of neighbor Albania😁😁 They are similar dough, hence confusion. 🇲🇪
We call it fried chicken. Albanian is carbonased.
Most of population dont like it anyway. We had tricolor flag earlier, similar to Serbian 🇷🇸
why you talk soooo much? Nobody intrested that! Show the Boat and arround BETTER
