I'm kind of a new Architects fan because of Who Wish to Exist, and I mainly clicked this video to see what albums to check out, so thanks for your input for these albums

Hollow Crown was my favourite not long ago because of raw and chaotic it is. But LTLF is now my favourite because it's not as monotonous as Hollow Crown

Interesting, so as someone who got into them when Ruin came out, then listened to their debut, and waited for Hollow Crown to come out because I loved Ruin so much, my tier list would look a lot different than this. And honestly I'd have to listen to most of their albums, because after The Here and Now came out I stopped liking them. That was not an album that I liked at all, and everything I've heard since then has just been really boring for me personally. So I never really got the hype for later Architects. I loved their first 3 albums, I'd say Ruin is my favorites, even though the lack of variation in the vocals gets a bit grading for me, but that album will stick with me forever as being sort of the first kinda mathcore sounding music I've ever heard. I'd rate Hollow Crown second, and then Nightmares third for me. I'd have to listen to the rest of the albums really, but I know I'm not a fan of their newest album because I've heard quite a bit of it and was just totally board with the album, and The Here and Now would definitely be last for me. Not an album I'd ever go back to. I am surprised for the lack of love Ruin is getting though, such memorable songs and cool moments on that album, and really the first time I heard something like that. Most blastbeats as well on an Architect's album. ;)

But honestly I have no clue what albums those songs were from, and I might not have even heard a song from Lost Forever / Lost Together. I have listened to a bit of there newest album though, just to see the what the hype behind it was all about, and I really couldn't care less for much of it, and didn't make it through half the album. So hopefully LF/LT is better than there new one!

I actually agree with you. I think I loved Holy Hell. But the truth is that there are like 4-5 tracks that really stand up and the rest, while good, just don't feel Architects-y. The new album is fine. It's fun. LF/LT and AOGHAU are my favs. I've not heard Hollow Crown and Daybreaker yet, planning to pretty soon

First... Djent? Went from Mathcore, to defining modern metal. Not sure they ever touched djent (a la Periphery, Sikth, more recently Erra etc.?) Derivative? 17/18 year olds writing super dissonant melodic technical metal in the uk. Other than viatrophy I can't think of another doing it successfully for the time. (infact so much so I feel like later albums could be called derivative. Certainly not the first two) .And ruin, got bored!!!!????... this was the masterpiece bridging work. Can't fault a single song on it. And Sam's vocals he had here, he influenced Oli Sykes and changed BMTH's vocal approach forever. (Thank fuck, distorted Mic yelping was awful).Hollow Crown, I don't think is Djent. It's Modern Metalcore, super low tuned. Just because it's A# doesn't make it Djent. Broken Clocks, we're all alone EP are two of my top 5 songs from them of all time, Everything after that... I just don't enjoy as much. There are stand out tunes, but every single album sounds so similar. Saw them at Aly paly a couple of weeks ago, and they surprised me big time. Sam is truly world class now vocal live performance. Sick control. But fuck me what I'd pay to see him betray his chords performing to the death, we're all alone, hunt them down, broken clocks, a bunch of ruin, in the desert... and The Gorgeous supporting them (again - like in Bham barfly - Sam/lads if you read this - great lakes is one of my fav albums of all time and I'm sad I didn't appreciate the hedonists I was listening to before seeing therm). Actually I'll backtrack, The dead swans EP era had some djenty percussive chugs. I'll continue to backtrack with that, in that they had low tuned guitars. But my main argument in court here is they rarely had time sigs outside 4/4 or 7/8 or played with metric modulation like misery signals, or periphery - but were capable of it, and importantly defined the uk scene popular metal genre.

I actually agree with you. I think I loved Holy Hell. But the truth is that there are like 4-5 tracks that really stand up and the rest, while good, just don't feel Architects-y. The new album is fine. It's fun. LF/LT and AOGHAU are my favs. I've not heard Hollow Crown and Daybreaker yet, planning to pretty soon
