Hike: Sunset Bay and Cape Arago - Friends of the Umpqua Hiking Club

This Oregon coast hike is a perennial favorite of the club, boasting majestic views of wave-crashing rocky shorelines in juxtaposition with cool serene forest trails. If you do only one hike on the southern Oregon coast, this is it. This round-trip escapade is roughly 8 miles, but you should set aside extra time for all the oohs and ahhs you’ll do while taking in the sights. Hard-core hikers will experience the full scenic beauty during the round-trip trek from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago and back, but casual adventurers can also enjoy grand views of this coastal beauty from multiple short access points. BONUS: Shore Acres is a magnificent distraction if you decide to stroll through it’s wonderful gardens.
