  • Our online series of Live & Ticking events keep you updated with the latest BHF science taking place across the UK.
    In this edition, we look at the links between ethnicity and heart and circulatory disease, as well as the complexities of health inequalities in the UK.
    Event speakers:
    Kerry Smith - BHF Director of People and Organisational Development gives an overview of BHF-funded research and how the organisation is addressing inequalities in heart and circulatory diseases as a key part of the BHF’s strategy to 2030.
    Professor Nishi Chaturvedi - Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the University College London discusses her research into better understanding cardiovascular risk between people with White European, South Asian, and African Caribbean ethnic backgrounds, and the factors that influence health inequalities.
    Hina Shah and Dr Carol Ighofose - Both women share their personal stories and experiences of suffering a heart attack and how it has affected their lives.
    Christie Norris - BHF Research Engagement Manager moderates viewer questions and poses them to our panel of experts.
