I don't have an extended history of having my Thanksgiving cacti blooming. However, this past January was the first time any of these cacti bloomed. They bloomed through April. I summered them outside under the carport and took them in the first week of October. Several of my plants had buds on them then. The buds started opening last week and I now have probably eight plants with, red, white and yellow blooms. I hope some will still be in bloom for Christmas.

Beautiful collection of Schlumbergera, Lyn! I love the gold one. I've also noticed how temperature plays a role in the color of these flowers. My Christmas cactus have all bloomed early this year, about 6 weeks earlier than last year. I'm hoping for another bloom later in the winter 🤞🤞

Yep. All mine are in various stages of blooms too. I have my grandmother's plant that she started cuttings off of her grandmother's plant. And now I'm a grandma & started 2 plants off of mother plant that I will give to my grandkids when they have settled down...they're only 11 & 13 so these plants will be quite mature by then. I just had conversation w my son about what to do w my plants when my time comes. I'm only 69 now but 1 never knows( I had 96lb treelimb fall on my head/body once almost killing me so...I make the plan) My plants are too valuable in family history to just let them be forgotten about.

The golden and orange are my favourite colours of your Schlumbergera as well, but the miniature Thor is so incredibly cute! I'm mostly impressed by how big and old some of them are. Such a beautiful presentation all together in the kitchen. I still lack the magic touch for keeping this plant type happy, even though they have a reputation for being easy. What beautiful cacti, my pink one is in bloom as well (no id on it), the red one in the same pot only bloomed for me last year and no signs of buds. My smaller one seems to be taking a break this year as it didn't do so well in the summer, too small of a pot and then too dry of soil. But I do think I see small buds.

The temperature definitely affects their bloom but it is the light waning that sets them off. But they do such strange things, I've seen them have second blooms before. Yours are beautiful, love your collection; I love the white one!; is it a pure white? I have a pale pastel pink - kinda almost white, a pink and a reddish pink for the "thanks givings" and a purple "Christmas" xBuckleyi. I still haven't sowed seeds from the fruit I got last year! 🌺

Hi Lyn, I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but Tendenza is new marketing name, that sells Orange Brazil for the commercial market. It's got absolutely nothing to do with the registry. It's a commercial marketing team. That sells Orange Brazil, Pink Brazil, Purple Brazil etc, etc, etc Tendenza is marketing prefix... nothing more. And now I'm a grandma & started 2 plants off of mother plant that I will give to my grandkids when they have settled down...they're only 11 & 13 so these plants will be quite mature by then. I just had conversation w my son about what to do w my plants when my time comes. I'm only 69 now but 1 never knows( I had 96lb treelimb fall on my head/body once almost killing me so...I make the plan) My plants are too valuable in family history to just let them be forgotten about.

Quite a beautiful display at your abode already! I got some pieces from a pink one that fell off my sister's plant the end of last year. so have two small pots started. Only one tiny flower bud so far. Hope springs eternal 🙂

The golden and orange are my favourite colours of your Schlumbergera as well, but the miniature Thor is so incredibly cute! I'm mostly impressed by how big and old some of them are.
Such a beautiful presentation all together in the kitchen.
I still lack the magic touch for keeping this plant type happy, even though they have a reputation for being easy. I'll keep trying though : )

What beautiful cacti, my pink one is in bloom as well (no id on it), the red one in the same pot only bloomed for me last year and no signs of buds. My smaller one seems to be taking a break this year as it didn't do so well in the summer, too small of a pot and then too dry of soil. But I do think I see small buds.

Great to see them in flower. Mine are nearly there but are outside. I have a two pad cutting from a friend that is only just rooted - it seems to be throwing a flower bud too, which is unexpected!

The temperature definitely affects their bloom but it is the light waning that sets them off. But they do such strange things, I've seen them have second blooms before. Yours are beautiful, love your collection; I love the white one!; is it a pure white? I have a pale pastel pink - kinda almost white, a pink and a reddish pink for the "thanks givings" and a purple "Christmas" xBuckleyi. I still haven't sowed seeds from the fruit I got last year! 🌺

Wonderful to see! I have two Thanksgiving cacti (2 different cultivars.. no names , as they were both rescued) in full flower right now with many more buds to come.. early this year. My seven Christmas cacti (one big old mother plant, and the rest grown from her cuttings) are just starting to bud up teeny weeny wee buds.. :)
