I love the ships you've created for Bridge Commander. Was wondering if you were going to be porting in ships from STO? Personally would love to see the Presidio class in bridge commander.

They need to actually balance some of these out of universe ships based on their feats instead of just based on what feels cool. I love the Orville, but it isn't even particularly powerful in its own universe, where tech is pretty clearly closer to TOS level at best, with some fluctuation.
The Orville is also too bit, by a lot.
I do love that they have their own classes as well. I always liked that the Orville was a more average/mid ship next to some of its bigger cousins in the fleet.
Yeah, we've seen on several occasions that when the *Orville* is seen next to a heavy cruiser, the cruiser absolutely *dwarfs* the *Orville* .
Well, they do definitely have faster FTL technology. Their top speed is said to be 10 light years per hour, which would be well past warp 9.99.
I know and that really makes these vs kind of pointless.

I just can't picture the Orville being any more powerful than Voyager . The version you used is way overpowered .
I wouldn't even say it's close to Voyager when it comes to power even though it's a remold of the Voyager model, because the Orvile's technology would be on par with the TOS 1701 era level of technology or 1701 Refit era level of technology.
If I'm remembering right... The Orville really isn't a warship, or a 'flagship'. It's more of a Voyager type role. A medium sized unassuming ship of the fleet. IF relatively equal technology, I would think the Enterprise should beat it. But then that's what I dislike about custom built ships; the maker will generally try to make it a bit OP, because it's their baby. 😆

@@hexagonal_nexul I don't really buy the year argument. You assume that PU and federation technology would have advanced at the exact same rate..... Also is the Orville really about the size of a Galaxy class?

@@hexagonal_nexul HELLO the Orville and STAR TREK aren't even the UNIVERSE, if you want a comparison in ship TECH the Orville is basically on par with the TOS era 1701 or 1701 Refit of technology.

Before the fight, unless maneuverability comes into play, the Orville is no match for the D.

And the Orville is more formidable than one would think... I saw it take out a Krill cruiser twice it's size.

Sometimes you just gotta make some ish up.
The only thing that the Orville has on par when it comes to maneuvering is Hugging the Donkey because the Enterprise-D can't do that, but have you seen Picard season 3 where the D was flown right into a GIANT Borg Cube and was busting dance moves that a Defiant Class could do.

There is no way the Orville could stand up that well against a Galaxy class starship. Trek weaponry by the 22nd century was capable was wiping out a mountain (albeit with maxing out their weapons system) In the entire 3 seasons of the Orville, the weapons of the Orville show never showed anything on that level, and in the few battles they did have the Union ships got creamed.
PLEASE put the Orville up against the NSEA Protector from Galaxy Quest, pretty please??

The Orville is a mid-level exploratory craft. I'm guessing a similar class to say a Centaur
I'd say the smaller support cruisers with 2 engine rings would be a Centaur, while the Orville is more like an Excelsior class

Well, if the Orville's weapons had been ineffective, they could just fire Bortus at the Enterprise and he'd eat the whole ship.
Judging from the apparent abilities in the shows, the Orville would probably be disabled by 1 or 2 torpedoes, tops. It was also much smaller.
This mod is more like a cruiser from that show

I hope that the GORN ships from Strange New Worlds are implemented at some point. Really I would love to see a new Bridge Commander like game some day.
So it’s interesting to see they didn’t actually seperate seeing that if we go off of lore that, the saucer would be still actively pulling power from the Warp Core, and if we go off of the model…well there isn’t a warp core left. I no longer think it not separating was the issue-
There's still fusion generators in the saucer section, a power source would be necessary to run the impulse drive on the saucer while the star drive is off doing it's thing
@@e.prevost94 Yes however they aren’t designed to be forced separated and becoming the main power grid, otherwise they wouldn’t have to do all the prep work for seperation

Not all of these ships have been released yet. This one is currently still in development. As soon as there is a release date I'll announce it. Most of the ships featured are on Gamefront 🖖
I always thought it was weird that the Orville's primary energy weapons could only fire forward. Sure, it was a fairly nimble ship but still that really limits its engagement options

Try the Orville against Enterprise E or G. Maybe even Voyager or Defiant.
I would like to add that I do not remember the Orville ever having a 360 degree fitlring arc as shown on screen here.
I like the ship itself, but those weapons and shields stats need to be lowered significantly. Orville is never shown to be an especially powerful ship in the show. It in no way should be able to take on the Ent-D by itself. Maybe 2 could best it, but not 1 of that class of ship. Or a heavy cruiser from the same universe would be a match. But not the light cruiser the Orville is shown to be.

i feel as if you need to do multiple fights with another player, going back and forth between the two ships in order to get a better understanding of which ship is better. maybe 6 fights total, 3 in one ship and 3 in the other, count how many you win/lose.
When you consider that the Orville is only a mid-tier Union ship, and the Enterprise D is a Federation capital ship of its time, it underscores the Orville's performance. I hope to see other ships from "The Orville".

My jaw dropped and eyes widened when you destroyed the D's secondary hull like that. Holy shit. They could have still used the saucer's impulse engines to maneuver the ship. Hopefully Geordi wasn't in Engineering. He most likely was though lol.

I believe Picard was on that particular shuttle and high tailed it out of there. Either that or some footage mysteriously disappeared. Cause and Effect? 🤪

Powercreep has been a big problem in Star Trek and not just the games. To be fair these are just modded ships to have fun with.
Not all (see the upcoming Diamondhead and Particle Class).

i think the Orville's main weakness is they can only fire forward and aft. It seems they have no broadside weapons.

Thats pretty OP but regarding the Century gap, maybe half accurate but games dont usually be the most accurate connected to the films they portrait, but thats a good battle either way, orville do be sheesh in the show but lets see how it likes the poert of the Enterprise-F

Orville has 50 years of technology over the Enterprise, so I think a California Class Refit with quantum torpedoes, faster engines, etc would be the closest ship to it in scaling. I still don't that would be good enough to take out the Enterprise.

I guess the borg are invisible from all those Klingon ships they have assimilated. Actually, thats a good point. If the borg assimilated Klingons and Romulans, why didnt they adapt the cloaking device?
Very good point. My guess is they are probably aware of the tech and how to do it but maybe only Klingon and to Romulan vessels have the hardware to make cloaks work. Could just be incompatible with Borg tech unless they create their own. Or perhaps they just see it as an inefficient use of resources

I looked away for just a single instant instant and I heard a scream and then when I looked back the Enterprise was in 2 damn pieces. For a second I thought that either the Orovilles weapons made a crazy screaming sound or that the crew of the Enterprise were actually screaming. Either way it's an understatement to say I was confused. I definitely had to rewind to see exactly what happened. Now I realize that I was wrong and that the Enterprise just ran out of options and shot Worf out of a torpedo tube. Lol

You need to do player v player. Because when the computer controls the ships even the most dominant ship can lose to a lesser ship, the computer for the most part sucks. I mean damn, a Runabout can beat the Enterprise (any one of them past and present) if the computer is in the Captain's chair.

The Orville is a tad OP. It should be quite maneuverable, but its firepower and shields are well beyond what a Destroyer should be.
Are there any Doomsday machine scenarios?
This is another of those baffling design decisions like B5 Shadow vessels sprouting incredibly tough shields in BC despite having no shields in the series. The Orville is a science vessel and never presented as especially formidable in-universe. We can't compare their star drives without hard numbers but in no way, shape or form should it be a match for the D.
It's like hull plating with the NX class. The game engine itself just isn't designed to handle the different technologies outside of the Trek universe.
@@compmanio36 Shadows vessels took damage even from Drazi Sunhawks, relatively small, low tech vessels. They didn't take much but they did "bleed". Like most B5 vessels they are glass cannon-ish, and BC doesn't represent this well at all when it makes them super tough on top of super powerful.
Needs Maloy at the helm and it needs to fire advanced kermits or send in bortas with a smoking and sex habit that would drain power systems of a mighty galaxy
