Wood burning stoves are a True BLESSING!!! We have one and in handy since we are total electric and have lost power recently . ADORABLE Maggie . Enjoy seeing all the new babies ( goats ) . Keep Dejay warm.

Beet Juice for watering outside animals--> I use canned beets with no added sugar, add water, blend. Then I add about 1 cup per gallon of water. They really don't get much of the natural sugar but it does help prevent freezing

When I was younger and lived on a farm, the farmer said he liked the snow to pile up like that, because when the snow melted at that low rate, the ground would absorb the water further down and not just stay on top.
I live in St. Peters Missouri, we have had 15 inches of snow fall since last Saturday. The mailman has not been down our street all week. The trash truck didn’t come either. I don’t live in the country like you. It is crazy. I wanted snow, but not this much. Thank God , the sun is shining today and we are above freezing so my 2 dachshunds got to finally go out and play and not just a fast potty and right back inside. The original snow was higher than they are tall. I love seeing all the new baby goats. They are all so cute.

From looking at Charlie just standing out in the snow ❄️🌨️ is 100% reassurance why Down feathers is the number one filler for coats 🧥 and parka's made for sub zero temperatures. I had a down filled Parka coat 🧥 as a teenager in the 70s and it was definitely the warmest coat I've ever owed.
Some machines are just worth their weight in gold. I think that splitter is one of those machines. Made that job 100 times easier than it was with the ax. Lambert babies are so cute especially the one with the spots around the eyes. Have fun in the snow. ⛄️

Sure brings back so many memories of when Houston picked out Lambert as his own bottle baby to take home with him. I remember him taking Lambert on a trip with the family and the 2 of them were asleep in the back seat. Dejay, you look beautiful with the icy snow in your have and your big smile, with Daniel poking fun of you. The love that you two share on camera is so sweet. You're quite a pair. Daniel your wood splitter works pretty fast. Even being a grandma, I'd love working that thing. And I don't mind the snow. I'd have your barn completely filled up in no time and love doing it, in exchange for 30 min in front of your fireplace, a cup of hot cocoa and a few laughs. I don't charge much, haha! Well, like you said the pond guys could probably move that muck easier when it was frozen. That's probably what they're trying to do. It'll probably be too muddy in a few days. This just brings them closer to getting the job done Ina timely manner. It's nice that you have such dependable and great guys to do the work for you. back in the 70s and 80s i cut 50 cord of wood for 3 families they payed me 20 per day 2 meals and i had a case of beer when working splitting was with a 8 to 12 lbs hammer and wedges

You downplay everything it entails because of the different heating options. It's very nice to be able to have this in your survival arsenal for heating, cooking etc.❤

OMGoodness, you are absolutely correct. That noise change with snow is one of those things I love, but failed to recognize, since way back years ago, but it is probably what gives me the serenity. This snow, here in Kansas has been one of the most beautiful I have seen in many years, the way it filled the tree branches. Thanks for that description.
Equine absolutely need that water. I lost my beautiful Tennessee Walker a few years ago to colick, in changing weather conditions. During the coldest weather he didn’t drink enough at the boarding ranch, though it was heated water. So heartbreaking!

Danny it is Great to have wood heat in the Winter time !!! You treat the animals there with Love & Care !!! 1 thing if you can pick up a log to put it into the fireplace Granny says do it !!! Round ones burn longer for you at night time !!! Then you don't have to get up in the middle of the night to redo the fireplace !!! Love Wood Heat I do !!!

Watching you cut and split wood, brings back so many memories. I used to love going to the woods with my grandfather and dad and get wood to split and put up for the winter. It's alot of work but so worth it.

What a bunch of snow! ❄️ Skip finally had her baby and what a cutie! I had to laugh at Kelsey playing in the snow and loving up to the goat kids. Where I live in Washington State on the eastern side, we have a few inches of snow, but it's supposed to get cold next week.

Watching you cut and split wood, brings back so many memories. I used to love going to the woods with my grandfather and dad and get wood to split and put up for the winter. It's alot of work but so worth it.
