I want you to know that I am praying for your daughter. I hope they caught it in time. I have been battling cancer for 6 1/2 years. Mine started in my kidney and pretty much spread every where else. Thanks for the strap video I think that is a real neat strap especially for
mandolin. I have never learned to tie that noose knot but I have it now.

Hi,Jerry; I hope you never sell your Mandolin!! God gave you the strenght in your hands for this build for a reason. I have arthritis in most of my joints and about four years ago I had to have a joint removed from my right thumb and I may have to have another joint removed in the future because of the arthritis. I wish you and your Family good health and many more good days. Thanks for the videos they are enjoyable to watch. 👍

Jerry, 25 grand for this beautiful, one of a kind mando is not an unreasonable amount of cash. 30 grand would still not be unreasonable. There may be in the future some other luthier/ builder that would make something equally as spectacular, but never the less, you have done your part and set the "gold standard". Thanks for all you have done in sharing your expertice on all things necessary to be done by two hands. Cheers and my prayers to you wonderful folks. Bob in Montana

Jack the rear of the tractor with both wheels off the ground. Put it in high gear, full throttle hold the clutch down then, wheels turning, drop the rear end. That's how I broke my clutch plate from sticking to the flywheel. Sounds dangerous but it works. I used a floor jack and some blocks of wood then had a buddy drop it.

With prayers and a lot of love from above things worked out well thus far and I will be praying for your situation as well my friend. Secondly I agree with you wholeheartedly on the passing years. At 65 they seem to pass as months as you say. Thinking about you all and God Bless.

Gerry, my mother fought it & was operated on and beat it, do NOT give up hope, the surgeons told us that my mums attitude was half the battle, SHE never gave up hope & went around her hospital ward every morning making sure the other ladies had their wigs in place, helping them with dressing, wigs, makeup & anything else they needed but mostly telling them to be positive, that it wasn`t gonna beat them as long as they themselves wouldn`t let it! She walked out.

My prayers for Rochelle, Jerry, Mum had that 20 years ago - she is cancer free at 89. I've thought about band saw fences and I like what you're sharing. In the mean time, I've been buying my back and sides from a supplier in Saskatchewan going by the name of Timeless Instruments. He has some beautiful sets of East Indian Rosewood which have been aging since 1990, limited stock apparently still available in Canada, and he's a wonderful builder. It comes in around 1/4" thick so I get out my Ibex plane. Kidding! I love my little plane when you can't carve down on spruce bracing due to grain haywire. Cheers, my friend.

Great vlog Jerry, my Love and prayers to your beautiful daughter, it is the worst thing to wait for a diagnosis, I know. I will be wishing her all our love and prayers for this to be a false alarm. Keep the mandolin, I appreciate you are no fool but I believe the second you let this wonderful instrument go you will regret it possibly for the rest of your life. it is a one off there is only one and it is made by you and that is of massive importance with regard to your family, it is famous already. Congratulations on your granddaughters graduation this is a milestone in every young persons life that should be celebrated. As for the tractors you are on your own with that one, I am creaking awha as we say in Scotland, just the thought of it lol. great demo on your strap you should have been a sailor. I hope the mobile star link comes up to snuff and gives you the speeds you need and provides a great service, it is expensive but what isn't nowadays 🤑 . Stay well my friend you are a true one of a kind, I thoroughly enjoy the music you are posting. As always Peace and love to you all from Bonny Scotland.

There is a way to drive the tractors without a clutch first step try to get it info the lowest gear with the starter then get it to enough Rpms and you might be able to shift it that way

Yes, I'd love to have an Accu-Slice. I can cut 3 inches off a Shopsmith fence and that's about it. Anything wider and the blade walks towards the fence on the bottom of the cut.
I want to build a parlor sized Classical Guitar and was hoping I could slice 5 inches. Hahh said the band saw. Maybe Cherry at 4 1/2 inch wide but Maple. Nope.

Just wondering, wouldn’t the cord strap just wear away at the crest of the scroll carving? Because Para cord is a rather Abrasive material and it seems to me that it would like take the finish off of that aria of the mandolin. I would like to try a cord strap, but I’m just Curious as to if it could harm the finish in my mandolin. Thanks in advance.

Heartfelt regards for your daughter and much appreciation for your content I am somewhat new here but have looked at quite a few videos and have learned a few things along the way. Time does pass more quickly that is more a curse but sometimes is a blessing. On the subject of selling, oh pardon me NOT going to sell the mandolin I am not buying that for a moment. Someone not interested in selling just says that plain and simple. By naming a price 3x what a new Gibson mandolin costs then openly discussing an offer north of that it is quite obvious the goal is to get well more than it would have sold for otherwise. I get it just not fooled by the charade

  • @zapa1pnt

Jerry, if you need money, sell the mandolin you have been playing, up to now.
It has been demonstrated to be an Excellent instrument and I'm sure someone
would be willing to offer quite a bit, for that.
The new one, which you yourself have been overwhelmed by, should stay with you.
If you sell it, for Any amount, you will regret it, for the rest of your days. (Every Day)
