I saw it and was blown away! Both leads did great but I was particularly impressed by Ariana Grande because Glinda is the harder of the two roles -- Elphaba is inherently good while Glinda starts as a "mean girl" but she can't be a Regina George mean girl so it's a fine line to walk, and Grande nails it. Plus I had no idea she could dance so well. That said, Cynthia Erivo nailed Elphaba in ways that took full advantage of the big screen and facial close-ups that aren't possible in a stage production, namely conveying the true sadness and basic sweetness of Elphaba that without the close-ups perfectly executed by Erivo can just come across as angst in the stage production.
